Saxophone lessons for saxophone players (beginners, intermediate and advance)

🎓 Graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. 🎷 My courses mix practical aspects and theoretical notions, according to the interests of the student, to whom I adapt to offer them a course which really provides them with the elements which will allow them to quickly flourish in the musical field. 👨‍🏫 With 8 years of experience teaching non-profit organizations and in particular, I am used to training students of all ages, beginners and advanced alike. 🕺I am open to a large number of musical styles, current or old, focusing my artistic approach on an "all-musical" (by mastering the codes of harmony and melody, it is possible to understand and apprehend any new style of music) 🎶 I currently specialize in mastering the Saxophone, in a classical and contemporary repertoire. But also, I am very open to improvisation, the practice of which I strongly encourage during classes, as well as live music such as jazz (swing, bossa, fusion, etc.). Some parentheses are possible on electronic styles (D&B, Dubstep, Lofi, House,..) ✅ My final goal is to allow the student to express their ideas in music, and for them to evolve and flourish in what they truly like. 🐣 I take beginners without any knowledge of music theory. Graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, I studied saxophone, musical training and pedagogy while traveling across Europe (Annecy, Lyon, Zaragoza and Leuven). In parallel with my studies and my projects / concerts, I have always been keen to transmit my passion by teaching the saxophone and musical training. This practice is for me the place of meetings and unforgettable moments. My pedagogy adapts to your needs! I take you to the highest level in fun and good humor. Whether it is for a one-off course or a long-term follow-up, we will work out together your objectives and methods to achieve them. This will allow you to measure your progress in the short and long term.

Pedagogy: Focused on the student and his own objectives. I will try to guide you towards a plan that will correspond to your desires, while proposing a working method based on the pleasure of playing together, rigor, musical culture and theoretical knowledge. My favorite repertoire is jazz, bossa, funk, but I also like to offer pieces from classical and pop, accompanying you on the piano to get you used to playing in a group. All levels and all ages welcome.

Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁 I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,... After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw! Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc. Book a lesson and try! My name is Federico and I am a professional and Award Winning saxophone player. I worked at Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles as an Assistant Professor of Jeroen Van Herzeele the jazz saxophone professor. I graduated at Conservatorio G.Martucci of Salerno (Italy) and had both Bachelor and Master with full marks with honors. During the course of my studies i also spent two academic years abroad , one at the Kask and Conservatorium of Ghent with the supervision of Bart Defoort and one at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles with John Ruocco. In 2017 i won the "Massimo Urbani International Jazz Competition" prize that saw as head of the jury Kurt Rosenwinkel & Fabrizio Bosso. I play in several Jazz bands and I have been performing all around Europe. I recorded a solo album called "Right Now" with the famous Italian label "Philology Records" & the album"Supernova" with my own band. I also recorded several albums with different bands and of many styles, from jazz, funk to pop. I toured with the famous Italian Drummer Tullio De Piscopo (Pino Daniele, Mina, Astor Piazzolla's drummer) and also had the chance to make a variety of television appearances on Italian National Television (Rai1, Rai5, Rai3). I obtained my Master of Music at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Simon Diricq. There I built up a broad expertise in (contemporary) classical, but I am also not unfamiliar with popular music. Hello, My name is Joris, I'm a saxophonist and conductor. As a saxophonist I obtained a Master degree with great distinction from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, won the second prize at the national Lion's European Music Competition and already played as a soloist with orchestras like the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides. I'm currently following a Master degree in Music Theory and Conducting at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. I started conducting when I was 18 and highlights of my career thus far include a selection as one of only 24 candidates for the conducting contest at the World Music Contest Kerkrade last summer. Furthermore I have had the opportunity to work with professional orchestra's like MAV Symphony in Budapest, the North Czech Philharmonic, the President's Own United States Marine Band, the Belgrade Chamber Orchestra amongst others. I'm a very logical person, I always analyze everything I do, which makes it very easy for me to teach and explain something I learned to others. My conducting background also forced me to develop a very concise way of giving feedback and to be very efficient and clear, which is crucial to the quick development of students.

Currently studying at the Koninklijke Conservatorium in Brussels. I graduated with a DEM jazz from the conservatory of Chalon-sur-Saône, and a BEM in classical saxophone from Dijon. I used to give courses in structure and particular, I taught 5 years the saxophone to students of all levels and all ages (from 5 to 71 years old) at the school of music and harmonic orchestra of Dijon, I also taught musical training at the conservatory of Beaune. The lessons will take place according to the musical tastes of the student and the stylistic approach he wishes. I can move around Brussels and municipalities and also give court at home.
