My name is Marie, I am 28 years old and I graduated from a Masters in cello at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. The cello is my passion, my profession, my life companion. I have been teaching for several years. I have at heart to transmit my interest for this instrument; this is why I continue to train within the conservatory. I spent a year in Denmark for a master's degree in education. An exciting year in a country where empathy is given a major role in teaching and where learning is based on the latest discoveries in neuroscience. I would like to evolve as a teacher by feeding on the pedagogies of the Nordic countries. Beginners, intermediates, advanced, I adapt to the age and needs of each. Playing a musical instrument requires a lot of concentration and involvement. I want to bring this taste for rigor, which is not opposed to fun or creativity, while respecting the rhythm of each student. Graduated from the Lyon Conservatory in cello, musical training and with a double Master's degree in cello and double bass from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels I give lessons for all levels, all ages. You like Bach suites for solo cello, the music of Telemann, Chopin, tangos, etc. It is possible to learn music at any age and I would be happy to support you on your journey. I have been teaching classes continuously for more than 10 years and I would like to explain what you can find in a class with me! - To begin with, the most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I would like to focus the classes according to what you need. For example, we will not put the same level of demand if you want to play for pleasure at home without haste or if you want to do some entrance exams to musical studies (although always with the same good rigor). The needs of each student can vary the methodology, the way of organizing the study sessions, the postural work, the repertoire... - Once we know what we want to achieve and by when, classes will begin in a relaxed atmosphere. Important! Relaxed is not equal to undemanding or rigorous, just that we will try not to resort to military methods, especially given my character and sense of humor ;). - Something important to note is that my methods are very dynamic and with special emphasis on the development of the ear and musicality. No reading, spitting and changing songs. I try to avoid methods that focus too much on the continuous reading of scores without memorizing, listening or understanding what is being done and why, especially so that later you can make your own aesthetic decisions and feel ownership of your performance.
