I am a multilingual translator who has been working as a language teacher for 4 years now. As my parents are Spanish (Catalan) and French, I am native in the three languages. I have also studied abroad, so I have a C2 level in English (with the Proficiency Certificate). Hence, I also prepare students for all the Cambridge English exams (First Certificate-B2, Advanced-C1 and Proficiency-C2).

My teaching method goes beyond memorization, because I believe that it is necessary to learn any subject from understanding and thus develop learning, to apply it in an exam or work done during the course. My goal is to get students to have an active attitude both in class and when preparing for a test. I am a person who is passionate about learning and sharing my knowledge, not just for an exam. I also believe that if you are able to foster interest in any subject, the results are achieved organically. My system is to make the content understood in a didactic way and to awaken interest in said content.

Spanish is a very useful language. It will allow you to communicate with people from many different countries. With an easy and flexible method, we will go through the basics you need in order to learn this language. If you already have some knowledge of Spanish, we will focus on improving it progressively. If you are curious about Catalan, I can also help with that! Method: daily work, vocabulary, easy but useful sentences, music, applied activities and more.

- Currently a student in a Master's degree in Public Administration, I graduated from a double license in law/LEA (applied foreign languages) and a year of hypokhâgne (preparatory class for the Grandes Ecoles). I therefore think I have the necessary resources to best help young students at the college/high school level to reinforce their learning and increase their results. - In addition to my training, given that I am trilingual (Spanish, French and Catalan) and that I am of Catalan origin, this course is mainly aimed at learning the language (written and oral) and its culture; history, links to current events, etc. - These courses can therefore be used both for students curious to know more about this identity and for those who already have some basics. - My way of teaching (homework, interventions, type of exercises...) will adapt according to the expectations and needs of the student.

Learn Catalan through conversation. If you want to improve your communication skills, I am here to help you. (Skype/Zoom available) I moved to the US a few years ago for professional reasons, it was very difficult to apply everything I had learned in traditional English schools to my everyday life. I quickly realized that the system that schools often use does not reflect the human learning process. As children, we first learn a few words and over time we develop language skills through mistakes and a fearless approach to the language. It is only later, at school, that our communication skills are refined. So why should we memorize the correct tenses and sentence constructions right from the start if we can not express ourselves yet? When we learn a new language, we often spend a lot of time constructing the perfect sentence in our head instead of speaking it.

Catalan is a romance language used by more than 11 million in Europe. Nowadays Catalan is fashionable because of its social movement in Catalunya, the fame of Barcelona and the multiple touristic attractions. In this course, the learning process is practical and combined with an immersion on the Catalan culture. My method is based in creating visual scenarios in which you will discover the words to use and the right way to make sentences in that situation. Once we can have a small conversation in that scenario, we will repeat it at the next meeting and it will be included in our "refresh quarter" which is a 15 minute revision on all the words and ways of saying that you keep learning. My focus is on connecting the language to your needs and wishes to make sure the learning is well grounded.

I am a native teacher from Barcelona, with a degree in History and as a Spanish teacher for foreigners. I have been teaching Spanish and Catalan private lessons for over 10 years, but I’ve also taught in the context of cultural associations and the French and Catalan national education.
