Professional Cello Teacher with 12+ years of experience
Hi everyone! My name is Ilona. I am a professional cellist and a cello teacher with a Master’s degree. My teaching experience is more than 11 years, with 3 years experience of online teaching. Online learning how to play cello is completely acceptable for all levels and ages from 8 years old.
Either you are a Zero Beginner or you are preparing to pass entry exam to conservatory - I will explain you how to practice to become more effective on cello. My current students range in age from 8 to 51 years old and come from all over the world.
I always work for results, so our lessons may be longer than an hour at times simply because we haven't completed the lesson plan (with no extra pay).
Before you begin learning the cello with me, you should understand two important concepts: when you play the cello, you use your body (arms, fingers) to create sound, and you use your soul and emotions to create music. We'll start by learning how to make sounds, which you'll later use to express your emotions.
Please do not hesitate to message me if you have any questions.
I am currently only teaching online.

About Me
I work with very different people. Children and adults, Autistic individuals, beginners and those who later successfully enter the conservatory.I am Ilona and I have been playing the cello for about 30 years. For more than 13 years, I have been teaching cello in a professional capacity. I don't count the time when I was a 17-year-old student as a teaching experience. Instead, I count the time when my students began earning A+s on exams like the AMEB and ABRSM, when they began successfully receiving music study scholarships, and when they began succeeding in auditions.
When my adult students began getting more out of our lessons than just instruction on how to play the cello, that is when I began to count my experience. My adult students discovered their own unique way of learning the cello because each of us has different goals, but we all need to love the process of learning.
My goal is to teach you or your child how to practice to get a successful result. The most important component of successful outcomes is effective practices. I will always remind you - "Play with thinking!". I will teach you how to do that.
I can promise a guaranteed visible result in 3 months with regular lessons twice per week.

Students who are preparing to pass exams for music college or conservatoire and who want to have 4-5 classes per week, please send me a message to talk about your program, deadlines etc.
If you don't see available time-slots, please send me a message and let me know your preferred time and day, and also the time-zone. I will find time for you!
My current students range in age from 8 to 68 years old and come from all over the world. Some of my students learn the cello for themselves, others for their overall development, and several students are preparing to enter music colleges and conservatories.
I have a Masters' Degree in Performing and Teaching Cello, psychological and pedagogical knowledge and more than 13 years of teaching experience.
I am a certified art therapist and art coach.
I've been working online since 2015.
I teach music theory as well. From the beginning to advanced jazz harmony. I can help you with you, if you are a young composer.
Please, do not hesitate to ask me any questions you might have.
Wishing you all the best,
Ilona

I specialise in teaching Music Theory and Harmony, as well as reading scores. My goal is to create a strong base of knowledge which each student can use in critical thinking in the future.
I assign homework and explain everything that needs to be repeated, in order to ensure that the students have absorbed all of the information.
I follow ABRSM, AMEB, Berkeley and my own music theory programs.
Either you are a totally new person to music, you have been playing guitar or you want to get more deep knowledge of Music Theory and Harmony - I will share with you my knowledge and will help you to get to your goal.

Cello and music classes - in classical or modern style (for all levels)Together we can develop your skill as a cello player, building a strong technical and musical foundation. We will find a learning style that best suits you. We can study the cello repertoire and traditional techniques and we can also explore the cello in less traditional ways - improvising, writing music, using electronics and combining it with other instruments.

Classical and modern cello classes in BarcelonaHello! I've been teaching continuously for over 10 years, and I'd like to explain what you can expect from a class with me.
Personalized approach: The most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I will tailor the lessons to your needs: playing for pleasure at home is not the same as preparing for entrance exams (although always with the same rigor). Your goals will influence the methodology, the organization of your studies, the repertoire, and so on.
Relaxed (but rigorous) environment: Once you've defined your goals, classes will be dynamic and pressure-free. Note! "Relaxed" doesn't mean undemanding; we'll just avoid military methods—especially given my personality and sense of humor.
Music, not just notes: My methods are very dynamic, with a special emphasis on hearing and musicality. No "read, play, and turn the page." I avoid approaches obsessed with reading sheet music without memorizing, listening, or understanding what is being played. I want you to own your performance and make artistic decisions. Warning! I might even make you sing.
No stylistic barriers: Thanks to my training (classical and modern/jazz at the Taller de Músics), I give equal importance to all genres. Adapting to your tastes, we'll go from baroque to blues, from Haydn to bebop... or even Michael Jackson. Why not?
If you identify with this approach, contact me! Learning the cello is a pleasure, and I'd love to share it with you!

My name is Miriam, I am a graduate in Master of Classical Music at KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent and currently I am studying a Posgraduate in Musical Performance Practice.
I've been teaching cello to children, teenagers and adults for 10 years, so I've acquired the necessary experience to be able to adapt to the different and personal needs and objectives of each student. My teaching methodology focuses on creating a friendly and relaxed environment (which does not mean undemanding!) in which students feel confident to express their own ideas and worries. In my lessons I focus on technical and postural questions, but we also reflect together on the music, as I like my students to develop their own musical ideas and not just imitate the teacher.

Cello, singing and theory lessons from bilingual Welsh and English speakerHi my name is Osian and I’m a cellist from South Wales. I’ve taught children of many ages and standards and I really feel privileged to be a part of someone’s musical and personal development. Music lessons can be a way of reaching the concert platform or it could be a way of expressing yourself and being creative, wether it’s a career path or not.
I grew up playing and singing where my first priority was to fall in love with music and learn to perform it to the best standard that I could do and that’s what I’d like to encourage my students to aim for too.
I’m a BMus Hons Scholar from
The Royal Academy of Music and I’m not studying at a masters lever at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Higher Graduate (with masters) in Cello and Conducting teaches music at all levelsMy teaching method is scrupulously adapted to each student I have, regardless of the subject to work on (musical language, cello, music history, analysis, conducting, etc.)
I always apply the Belgian teaching model, where I trained with my master's degrees in Conducting (Antwerp) and Historical Cello (Brussels). According to this model, the main thing is a living and practical teaching, taking understanding and not memory as the main learning engine.

Playing the cello makes you beautiful both inside and outside!Hello, my name is Anna, and I’ve been playing the cello for 22 years. I have a masters degree both in performative arts and teaching cello from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. I have acquired a wide range of tools to inspire my pupils individually in their step-by-step development. I teach learners of all ages and levels, my students are 5-60 years old, from beginner to advanced.
When I was 15, my cello teacher asked me to teach her younger pupils. I was enthusiastic of teaching, and I still have the same enthusiasm, but much more knowledge and experience.
Playing the cello makes you beautiful both inside and outside! While playing the cello, I pay attention to the music, my technique, my body and my emotions. I focus on the same aspects while teaching, so we will improve your musical and technical abilities, as well as your awareness of your own body and emotions. These can (and should) be improved regardless of age and level so if you're interested, sign up for my cello lessons!
