Welcome! My name is Caleb and I look forward to working together in lessons online or at your home around The Hague! My teaching is customized to support each student's musical goals. Prior to moving to The Hague, I spent five years teaching group and private lessons for a variety of arts education organizations in Philadelphia (USA). In each space, I create safe and fun learning environments for students by maintaining a consistently supportive demeanor and by using positive reinforcement to encourage student behavior and growth. I’m patient, and empathetic, and maintain a firm belief in all students’ capacity for improvement and success. In the lessons, we will focus on creating a beautiful, efficient, and flexible sound through various exercises and musical pieces. I will facilitate exploration that leads students to learn about effective learning habits and to be able to self-identify what they can do to improve. Caleb –––––––– A bit about me: Originally from Indiana (USA), I have performed professionally with the International Chamber Orchestra of Puerto Rico, with organist Clara Gerdes at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, and with members of the American Brass Quintet at the Aspen Music Festival. As a baroque trumpeter, I have performed with The Sebastians, the Philadelphia Bach Collegium, with members of the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, and with the Jeune Orchestre de l’Abbaye and Philippe Herreweghe at the Festival de Saintes. While attending Curtis Institute of Music, my colleagues and I won first prize at the National Trumpet Competition (USA) in the trumpet ensemble division. As a passionate advocate for music education and arts access, I served as an ArtistYear fellow, teaching sixty-five recorder students at Powel Elementary School in Philadelphia during the 2016-17 school year. I have also served as a teaching artist for Jazz Aspen Snowmass and Philadelphia’s Play on Philly. As a founding member of The Brass Project from 2016-2018, I premiered over thirty new works written for the ensemble. During this time The Brass Project was featured by Santa Fe Pro Musica, at National Sawdust, and at Music from Angel Fire. Our debut album, “Cityscaping,” was released in December 2018. I recently graduated with a master’s degree in baroque trumpet at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. I earned an Artist Diploma at the Curtis Institute of Music, and a bachelor’s degree at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.

Spanish trumpet player, I have two master's studies (trumpet and music education) with experience working as a teacher in the conservatory with students from 6 years old to undergraduate studies. Also, I have experience with different orchestras in Spain and The Netherlands and with different jazz groups. I consider myself happy and dynamic, always looking for different techniques for the best result for the student.

The trumpet: its correct technical execution and the interpretation of popular and academic universal repertoires, is available to everyone regardless of their age. We will build a logical sequence of studies that will help develop the technical aspects. And we will address repertoires according to the age and taste of the student. we will draw a path with short, medium and long term goals. we will build a technical routine and healthy habits to progress correctly. In addition, we will select musical pieces by mutual agreement to mature the technical development hand in hand with musical growth. I am a professional trumpeter, I have participated in symphony orchestras, wind bands, big band, and small chamber and jazz ensembles. I have extensive experience teaching children, youth and adults. For me it is very important to make music from the first lesson, because there must be a balance between technical practice and its application in small melodies or musical pieces. No matter the musical genre, we will always find a repertoire according to the level and interest of each student. If you already know how to play and you need to perfect a piece or prepare a recital or audition, you can count on my experience and accompaniment as well.

My teaching method is as follows without the instrument: Awareness of the breath, placement of the mask (lips, tongue, palate, throat), body position. With the instrument: The air column, the position of the mouthpiece, the work and the position of the tongue. How to be enduring on the trumpet and get tired as little as possible. For the advanced: work on the treble, the brass section, precision, Cat Anderson's whisper g, the choice of mouthpieces, the piccolo trumpet. There are also balms to relax the facial muscles, flush out lactic acid, oxygenate the blood and reduce swelling. Subsequently or for the students who play correctly, we will work on the classic program of the technique with French and American methods, work of improvisation and decryption.

Hi, I'm Justine, I just finished my bachelor's degree at the Brussels Conservatory and I'm starting a training in pedagogy next year. I can teach beginners and intermediate players in cornet, trumpet or bugle. I am quite flexible in the methods used, there are always plenty of ways to help you progress. My favorite field is classical but we can work on other styles! I can teach in French or English, by video or at my home preferably. Do not hesitate to contact me !

I am a professional trumpet player graduated from Conservatorium van Amsterdam.I have 21 years of experience in playing trumpet, and 12 years of teaching experience. I offer professional Brass instruments (Bariton, Tenorhorn, Euphonium, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba) lessons for children from the age of four, for teenagers and adults. Whether beginner or advanced, that doesn't matter to me. Every motivated student of trumpets is welcome with me. I see it as my job to promote the particular character of each student. Playing the trumpet is an art that is difficult to explain. To become a good Brass player, you need more than “just” to master your instrument. Practice is a basic requirement. Young Brass students, children in particular need the support and support of their parents in the learning process, but the joy in the practice lessons should not be left behind. The focus of my lessons is on conveying musical understanding, sound technology and music literature from classical to klezmer to jazz. Elements such as transpose, orchestral replacement and sight reading are also taken into account in the lessons. I accompany the students as they prepare for competitions and auditions. Playing the trumpet requires effort and discipline. However, that doesn't mean it can't be fun. Based on my own experience, I will teach you to love the instrument and enjoy the hours of study as I do. My classes adapt to all levels, from inexperienced beginners to intermediate/advanced levels. I'm available to teach any person who plays or wants to play the trombone, that includes some help on theory and music perception. My goal is to help the student understanding on how music works and flows, and how to have an efficient trombone playing. If this goal is reached, there's no one happier than me :) I can help also in choosing equipment (trombone, mouthpiece), as also giving tips for any matter related to this wonderful profession!
