I am offering lessons in playing the traverse modern flute as well as historical flutes and music theory at any level, from the beginner to the professional.

I teach from international method books and adjust my methods to the individual needs of each student. About Me
Since I was 10 years old, I knew that I wanted to become a professional musician. Music was my passion and my first music teacher was the one responsible for that. She was the first one to show me how much joy music brings into our lives. And she was the one who always supported me and helped me on my musical path. She was the one who showed me that feeling joy in playing music is much more than just to play perfectly, and no one ever was able to convince me about the opposite. Therefore, my greatest wish ever since was to be able to pass this joy of music on, to my students. When I play the flute, I feel freedom. It is my safe world, full of creativity, dreams and story-telling...During my professional life as a musician and a flute teacher, I learned that enthusiasm is the most important thing in all creative disciplines, in all arts, and we need to cultivate it and treasure it. In my teaching methods, I always want to provide an individual approach to each student and enough support for them to be able to develop their unique relationship with music and with their flute.
Alongside playing music with orchestras and teaching, I have been enthusiastic about chamber music. I have co-founded three ensembles, currently based in The Hague, specialising in historical performance.
Besides music, I am a professional barista - good quality coffee and chocolate are my joy, too, and I love baking cakes and cookies. :-)
I have an understanding for fun, too. I was a leader of summer camps for children for more than 10 years which helped me vastly to develop my communicative skills with children and understanding for their individuals needs.

Guitar, Mandolin, Music Theory lessons by enthusiastic tutor and performerEnthusiastic guitar tutor and performer.
I started playing classical guitar at the age of 6, and my formal musical education began at the age of 9 when I started attending a music school in Croatia. After 6 years of primary school, I continued studying classical guitar at a secondary music school in Varazdin, Croatia. During that period I received training in classical harmony, Counterpoint (polyphony), Solfeggio, Music history and gained plenty of experience in orchestral playing and choral singing. I decided to continue my musical education in Manchester where I was studying for an undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music and currently I am studying at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague. As a performing guitarist, I have successfully participated and won prizes in a number of international competitions in the UK, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Hercegovina. Although my studies are primarily related to classical music, I am comfortable playing and performing music in a range of other styles and genres. I am also experienced with mandolin and Croatian folk instrument called tamburitza.

Music for everyone! Recorder (blockfluit) lessons.Highly dedicated and passionate teacher.
Age does not matter when it comes to learning, just enjoying it. Lessons for beginners to more advanced students.
Always trying to keep a creative environment where the students can express themselves in all aspects.
I believe that it is necessary to be constant. The ideal would be one hour or hour and a half a week, but that depends on the student availability. I would provide a personal adaptation.
I like playing games, singing and coming up to most creative solutions for learning fast inside of a save space for questions and imagination of the student. It is very important to motivate the students regarding to their music tastes.
I consider myself an involved and motivated musician. I am constantly trying to learn new styles and enjoy so much doing it. At the moment I am studying my second bachelor degree in music, specifically in Early Music.
I am very flexible with schedules for lessons so coming to a common point should not be very difficult.
Marta
Singing lessons for children, teenagers and adults, music theory lessonsWelcome to my introduction site!
My name is Marta and music has been a great love and passion for my entire life.
Singing lessons are not only an opportunity to learn singing and something new about music but also an opportunity to express emotions, forget about everyday worries, and have fun!
Through music theory lessons you can learn about the structure of music and also develop some very useful music skills such as reading music (sight-singing or sight-reading).
All students who have a specific goal in mind, but also all who do not have any specific goal in mind and want to sing or learn theory just for fun, are very welcome!
Different options for lessons that I am offering are described below and all of them can be modified and adjusted according to the wishes and needs of the student:
SINGING LESSONS FOR CHILDREN (individual or group lessons - maximum 10 students*)
Singing lessons for children is basically an integrated method that combines singing with solfeggio, developing basic music theory skills. It consists of playing musical games and singing children's songs and those developing intonation, musical hearing, musical memory, sense for pulse and rhythm, all with attention to healthy singing.
SINGING LESSONS FOR TEENAGERS AND ADULTS (individual or group lessons - maximum 10 students*)
During singing lessons, we will be searching for a deeper meaning of the story and different ways of interpretation, with attention to healthy singing techniques, pronunciation, and style. The lessons consist of breathing exercises, and vocal warm-up exercises with a specific technical goal and work on the desired repertoire - meaning of the words and story, vocal technique, pronunciation, interpretation, and style.
My specialization is in classical singing but I don’t mind working on other genres in my classes.
SIGHT SINGING LESSONS (individual or group lessons)
Intense course where you will be learning how to read music at sight. The lessons consist of sight singing only, beginning from the easiest level and gradually learning how to read more and more difficult music. You will develop skills needed for sight singing as well as a certain way of thinking appropriate for sight singing. (There is no technique of singing or interpretation involved in these lessons.)
SOLFEGGIO LESSONS (individual or group lessons, for children from 8 years old, teenagers, and adults)
In these lessons, you will learn how to bring written music to life (sight-singing), how to discover and put on paper the music you hear (musical dictation), and how to build scales, intervals, and chords. This knowledge is needed and examined in every conservatoire and music academy. For some conservatoires and academies, this is an obligatory pre-requirement and elimination factor on entrance exams. It is an inevitable part of every professional music education.
MUSIC THEORY LESSONS (individual lessons)
Music theory lessons can include, if desired: solfeggio, harmony, counterpoint, music form, analysis, and/or other music theory-related subjects. For each subject, we can make a special program, depending on the wishes and needs of the student.
COMBINED SOLFEGGIO AND SINGING LESSONS
Combined solfeggio and singing lessons are also possible for adults, as separate subjects or integrated with singing lessons. In both cases, the duration of each lesson is 90 minutes and the program is discussed and created based on the wishes and needs of the student. (A combination of individual singing lessons and a group solfeggio lesson is also possible.*)
AUDITION TRAINING AND PREPARATION FOR EXAMS (individual lessons)
Preparation for auditions concerning singing and/or music theory includes preparation for entrance exams, regular exams on conservatories, or preparation for ABRSM exams.
*Please, contact me for more information about group lessons. Prices per person in group lessons are much lower than prices for individual lessons.
If you have any further questions, please, do not hesitate to contact me... I will be happy to answer all your questions!
Carla Peña
Let's play together! - Cello lessons for all levels and agesMy name is Carla Peña and I come from Barcelona. Since I was a child, music has played an important role in my life. I started learning music when I was 4 years old and cello when at the age of 6. I discovered my love for music and that is what I share with my students.
I have around 15 pupils of all levels and ages and I teach at my own studio (De Constant Rebecquestraat 3) or at your place!
If you are in The Hague area and you want to learn the cello or improve your playing, you are welcome to do lessons with me!
FIRST LESSON:
The first lesson consists of getting to know each other. This is essential to choose the best teaching approach. All the students are unique, that is why I always choose the method that adapts better to your needs. Then, we elaborate a personal plan, depending on your level, expectations, practice time, and taste.
TECHNIQUE:
Learning the proper technique of the instrument is very important to avoid injuries and to be able to express ourselves and perform our musical ideas in a successful way. That is why we learn nice songs in different styles, depending on your taste (from classical to jazz, film music, pop, etc.) and we combine it with cello method books with progressive exercises to improve the cello knowledge.
In the case of young beginners, we also play cello games during the lesson to make the learning experience dynamic and fun! Children can lose attention and get bored very quickly!
Playing together is an essential part of enjoying music. Therefore, the last part of the lesson always consists of playing cello duets and having fun!

Reiko
Flute, Traverso (Baroque transverse flute) lessonsHello everybody,
I am Reiko. I teach flute and baroque transverse flute.
The flute is a well-known, popular instrument, but what is a baroque transverse flute!?
It is a wooden flute that was played in the 17th and the 18th centuries (roughly) in Europe, so if you are curious how the pieces of J. S. Bach or G. F. Handel sounded at the time they were composed, you can take lessons with baroque transverse flute!
Ever since I first encountered the flute, in my elementary school in Japan, it has been the biggest passion of my life. I studied modern flute and other historical flutes in Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, Japan, then there followed a Master’s degree in Early Music from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.
Playing the flute is fun and discovering beautiful music through the flute is a wonderful experience. I would like to guide you to find the best way for you.
I work with young people and older adults, beginners, and experienced musicians.
-Experiment and Explore-
In my lessons, I teach/explain the basics, then students begin experimenting, with my help. How to hold a flute, breathe, practice – to discover what is comfortable and works well for each person. How to use the body and how to approach the music.
And we will explore the Why together. Are you telling a story with the piece? What are you expressing with a flute? Can you learn something about yourself with this practice?
I will help you while you learn. I am your guide and your coach, and I go with you towards your goal.
Do you think you don’t have time to learn to play the flute?
Don’t be afraid to try it first; you can always start. You can always stop.
You think you don’t have time to practice, but there are moments every day – just 20 minutes is enough – to improve on your own over time, and I will show you how. Enjoy the flute bit by bit.
Bonus: We can play together, in person, or even via zoom. I call it “zoom karaoke.” Playing together gives your learning a boost.
