Hi there! My name is Norica. I am a pianist and a piano teacher from Tokyo. Just quickly to the point: My approach is holistic and systematic. It uses lots of fun exercises and nice educational materials from Japan in addition to the Internationally recognized standard books. (Don't worry, you don't have to understand Japanese!) You learn not only how to play piano but also how music works- music theory. I know what my students are good at and not so good at right off the bat. That's why I can tailor the lesson plans to their goals and needs. Also, if you like to take an ABRSM exam, the syllables will be tailored accordingly. So what will be tested on the day of the exam is integrated into the lessons and my class/lesson offers all-round preparation for the exam. I have helped my students pass G1, 3, 5 and 6 with a good score. Another important aspect of my lesson is to focus on improving cognitive skills - increasing memory, right-hand-left-hand-coordination, sustained attention, nonverbal communication, and a feeling of independence and freedom. I do so with unique materials from Japan and fun training. Currently students from 4 to 75 years old are taking my lessons. There are two grand pianos at the location in Den Haag. There will be enough distance between the student and the teacher. For children, it is important to develop basic musical skills through Singing, Rythmique, and Ear training besides piano playing. I use one technical exercise book, the main textbook, and a theory book. Through these 3 books, students learn different aspects of music and they naturally get ready for exams and grades. After acquiring basic skills, students study Harmony and Chord exercises too. These are useful for playing pops and jazz, and they obtain a deeper understanding of classical pieces too. Private Piano lesson, from age 4 and above. Children can start the lesson after being able to read the numbers from 1 to 5 and the alphabet from A to G. Advanced students who want to prepare for competitions, auditions, ABRSM, GCSE, IB exams, or the entrance exam of the conservatory. The concert is held annually together with students of flute, violin, and composition teachers. For the ages 1-7 years, I have group Rhythmique lessons.

This class is both for people without any prior knowledge of music production and sound engineering and for people who wish to improve their skills. You will learn how to use computer software for RECORDING, COMPOSING, MIXING and MASTERING songs. You will also learn microphone techniques for recording acoustic instruments and voice. With this knowledge you will be able to produce music in all genres: pop, hip hop, rock, EDM, etc.

Hello! I am a classically trained pianist with a Master's Degree from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. I have 8 years of teaching experience, with students from all ages and levels. My teaching methodology is focused on adapting to the student's needs and motivations while passing on my knowledge to help the student develop musical independence and create a personal connection with music. I organize 2 class concerts per year in a beautiful venue, so that the pupils perform their favorite pieces and showcase their progress to family, friends, and classmates. The piano has been with me for a long time. I love to teach everything I learn. I adapt to all levels. It doesn't matter if there is no experience! Through all my professional experience, teaching, participating in orchestras, and my training, I have learned a lot about this wonderful thing that is music.

The structure of the lesson is based on the pupil’s preference in music style, instrument combinations and others. We will talk about the harmony, rhythm and form while the pupil will be asked to create his/her own short works/songs. I always find fascinating to analyze music of the past (for example some of your favorite songs, instrumental works and others) in order to gain a deeper understanding of how these were created and from what musical ingredients they consist. Furthermore, integral part of this course is the understanding of the possibilities of each instrument and the combination of more than one. In this course, you can also learn how to use music notation softwares such as Finale and Musescore in order to notate your own music easily and fast.

Learn to translate your creative ideas into your music! During these lessons you learn composition techniques to create your own compositions or to improve them. Techniques to help you to give a voice to your musical ideas! Your tunes for several instrumentations, e.g.: strings, woodwinds, brasses, percussion, jazz, pop/rock, or various combinations. We discuss what your musical preferences are and which way we go. In any case, fun is paramount! There's also the possibility to learn about Harmony and Keyboard Voicings (Chords/Harmony), and/or Jazz Hanon (Chord-Melody). These methods can be put into practice with Harmony Progressions (also with your own Compositions/Tunes, etc.), so we we can see how Harmony works with the concept of Functional Harmony and beyond. The lessons are for all ages/levels and are taught in Dutch, English, Spanish, Catalan or Portuguese. Online lessons are also possible via Skype, Zoom or Face Time!

I am a professional classical pianist, accompanist, creator, and composer with a Bachelor's Degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and a Master's Degree from the Royal Conservatorium in the Hague. For 7 years now, I have been teaching students of all levels between 5 and 60 years old. Lessons are based on your level, interests, and goals. Together we can find out if you are keener on classical repertoire, or if you want to play your favorite pop music, some beautiful soundtrack from a movie you like or compose/improvise new pieces. With my experience in teaching diverse genres, I will help you explore the music that you like. The central pillars I always work with are technique and creativity, which are much more connected than you would expect! While we advance, I also introduce the basics (or more deeply, if you are interested) of music theory to learn to communicate with each other in musical terms (chords, keys, score reading, etc.).
