I studied and lived (mostly) in Italy until I was 20 years old, then I moved to Copenhagen to continue my education. I am an Italian native speaker, and I use English in my daily personal and working life. Talking to someone is the best way you can practice new languages. When I was a teenager I moved to Canada for six months to learn English, and even if I struggled at the beginning, pushing myself to have crooked conversation with friends was the perfect way to start mastering the language. I am an Italian student at Ugent. I give Italian lessons for those who want to learn the basics of the language (grammar, syntax) or improve conversation (diction, vocabulary, ways of speaking), listening and writing. The course is for all levels, I try to customize the teaching method according to the needs and level of the student. I also try to do a very conservative practical course on daily life to allow the student to get to an elementary conversation as soon as possible. If the student likes to learn about Italian culture, we can also talk about art, literature, cinema, music, gastronomic culture, Italian traditions, habits and customs and obviously also topics of interest to the student.

Depending on your current level and my skills, I will be able to help you learn the following languages until you reach the level below: - French -> confirmed - English -> intermediate (fluent) - Italian -> beginner The aim is to learn through various exercises in the form of games or repetition (dictation, reading of text, discussion, etc.)

As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing. The course is aimed at a wide range of students with a general interest in Italian. No prior knowledge of Italian is required as the course is for complete beginners. Objectives of the course: To acquire basic language skills and to achieve the equivalent of A1 level. A communicative approach is used. All four skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) are practiced, with the main emphasis on speaking. The student engage in interactive language activities according to a syllabus based on systematic grammatical progression. The student will also be offered guidance in self-study and set optional homework tasks.

At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts.
