Art history to develop artistic and general culture

During our structured lessons and engaging exercises, pupils/students will gain comprehensive knowledge about paper sizes and formats, designing with proper proportions, text placement, integrating illustration and photography, and selecting suitable typography. Our lessons also cover strategies for standing out among other designers, the creation and significance of mood-boards, best practices in design, and techniques to make designs captivating and appealing to a wide audience. We foster a positive and enthusiastic environment because while designing is undeniably hard work, it’s also incredibly rewarding.

Good morning ! I am currently a master's student in general history at the University of Geneva. My studies allowed me to acquire a solid base of knowledge and skills, both in writing and in research. My knowledge of historical facts as well as Latin and ancient Greek will allow me, I hope, to be able to push the explanations given by the teachers in class and perhaps lift the veil on possible misunderstandings on the part of the students. The objective is to support students in difficulty as well as those who would simply like to consolidate their knowledge. In both cases, I am keen to be able to make the disciplines that I teach a little more digestible and to arouse students' interest in history, literature and the arts, to show them that not everything is not just a matter of stupid and nasty cramming, and that understanding always takes precedence over rote. It also seems essential to me to acquire a good sense of organization, which is the source of all effective and useful work. Therefore, if some students seem to be having difficulty with their homework and the organization of their lessons, I would be very happy to be able to help in this regard. This course offers an in-depth exploration of painting, with an emphasis on the techniques, styles, and artistic movements that have marked the history of art. Intended for students of all levels, the course combines practical painting sessions with theoretical studies of iconic works, allowing participants to draw inspiration from old and contemporary masters to develop their own style. Currently studying art history at the École du Louvre, and having studied in prestigious schools such as the École Olivier de Serres, I am a creator-researcher in contemporary art, specializing in culinary design, which enriches my pedagogical approach with a unique interdisciplinary perspective. Students will learn to master various painting techniques, such as oil, acrylic, and watercolor, while discovering how these mediums have evolved over the centuries, techniques that I learned in particular during my professional experience in the museographic workshops (decoration painting) of the Louvre Museum. In parallel, discussions and analyses of works of art will allow us to situate the practice of painting in a broader historical and cultural context.

History, geography and art history have been and still are areas that are important to me and where I feel at ease, so I would be happy to support you in your revisions or homework in one of these subjects. With a master's degree in Language, Literature and Civilization of the English-Speaking World, I took a large number of courses in history, art history and of course languages, literature and translation during my studies at the universities of Cambridge, Edinburgh and Montpellier. This is why I offer courses in most of the literary and linguistic subjects taught in middle and high schools: Spanish (my mother tongue, which I have been teaching for years in private lessons), English (a language I have spoken for almost 15 years and which I taught in the national education system for a year), French, history and art history. All of these subjects fascinate me enormously and I want to pass this passion on to my students. It is entirely possible to combine several of these subjects, which are ultimately very linked to each other.

The class will chart the development of European, American and International art history from 1900 to the present day, beginning with Post-Impressionism and its off-springs Cubism and Expressionism, the move into Abstraction post-war, to Conceptualism and Minimalism of the 1960s and 1970s which still have significant relevance in today's Contemporary art world. The focus will be on the wider political issues that impacted art history of the time, thereby using art history as a novel and unique lens through which we can gauge world history events, and its politics, in a potentially new and interesting light.

Students will explore key historical periods, influential artists, and cultural icons while also gaining an understanding of Italy’s diverse regional traditions, cuisine, and contemporary lifestyle. The course includes discussions on Italian art, architecture, literature, and music, with a particular focus on how these elements reflect and influence the language. This lesson focuses on fashion history from the earliest clothing through the 20th century. Throughout this project students will learn garment parts and styles and the history of clothing and fashion cycles. By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the history of fashion and its significance in different time periods. Graduated from the Ecole du Louvre in art history and archeology and from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in history and International Relations, I am completing a master's degree in International Relations specializing in the Middle East at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and in partnership with the American University of Cairo in Egypt. I offer general history courses covering all periods, while being able to give more specific courses on the following periods: ancient history, medieval history, modern history and contemporary history covering European, African and Middle Eastern geographical areas. depending on requests. Finally, I offer geopolitics courses, targeted on the Middle East. The countries and regional areas covered in more detail will be defined with the student.
