BACHATA COUPLE DANCE CLASSES - from zero to advanced

Hello everyone! Get ready to bring your moves to life and immerse yourself in the electrifying world of Latin music! My name is Evelyn, a dance enthusiast originally from Peru and currently living in Geneva while pursuing my master's degree. I invite you to join my exciting dance classes, where I will guide you through the catchy rhythms of salsa, bachata and zumba, infusing the lessons with the unique flavors of Latin American culture. In addition to teaching Latin dances, such as the sensuality of Brazilian Samba, I have experience creating custom choreography for weddings and special events. If you have a choreography in mind, feel free to share it and we will learn it together! My main goal is your comfort, because for me dance is a way to express yourself and live fully. I want my students to enjoy every step without feeling pressure and experience the joy of moving to the Latin rhythm. I propose the courses of contemporary dance, with work of improvisation, du contact, du floorwork... I work with different dynamiques of movement, with the use of spirals, the transfer of pods and the articulation of the ensemble of corps. . Voilà: in these months courses on s'amuse à danser!

Oriental dance is a dance of Egyptian origin, which includes many styles. Originally, it was a spontaneous and improvised dance, but today it is taught academically all over the world. It is traditionally practiced by women, who express by this art their femininity, their vitality, but also their feelings, joys and sorrows. In general, this dance is characterized by the dissociation of the parts of the body (isolations) that can move independently of one another. Oriental dance is as good with jerky rhythms as slow and fluid. Bellydance is not limited to movements of the pelvis: it solicits flexibility and tonicity of the bust, shoulders, arms, hands, pelvis and belly. It helps tone the thighs, relax the joints, develop the abdominals and maintain the back. Most of the work resides in the muscular contraction, this dance can be practiced at any age, in the respect of the limits of each dancer or dancer. The course begins with a joint and muscle warm-up, followed by technical work. The basic movements are then integrated into sequences that allow you to move in space and experience the pleasure of dancing, before ending with a session of relaxation.

Having experienced first-hand the power of dance to shape people’s perspectives, I am enthusiastic about using my professional experiences, skills, and beliefs to educate new young dancers in the techniques, movements, and experiences of dance. I am also just as enthusiastic to share that beauty and power with the community, with recreational adult classes as well. About how I teach, and why I started; I was looking for dance that was fun, liberating, and yet artistically challenging, all at the same time; I craved something that brought and demanded a more humane experience inside of the studio. My interest at the moment is to use our human experiences and bodies as they are. I’m not so interested in trying to force them into something else, but to allow that freedom to take us to whatever imaginary or fantastical place where dance should be able to take us. I believe my obligation as a dance teacher is to encourage students to have fun when dancing. It’s something that’s forgotten a lot as a budding artist, but one of the most important things for perseverance in this field. I believe that if the curiosity, imagination, and enjoyment is there, the technique will come as well because there’s a mutual belief, from both the teacher and student, in oneself. Of course to learn a variety of dance styles, be technically proficient, and pursue a personal creative expression is important, but having an experience with a group of people and letting go into imagination while allowing yourself to have fun will push a dancer even further in their artistry, I believe. To be able to be given images, sensations, feelings, etc. and have the awareness to translate them into some form of movement is an important skill as an artist and human being

Formerly a student at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris as well as at the Junior Ballet in Geneva, I have been a classical, contemporary and modern jazz dance teacher since 2019 in Switzerland and neighboring France. I taught at the "Danse Evasion" school (Cugy, VD) for amateurs (from the age of 4 to adults) the following techniques: classical, contemporary, jazz, parent-child dance, yoga and Pilates. Subsequently I taught dance for pre-pro training at the "Ecole de danse de la Côte" (Morges, VD) the following techniques: classical and contemporary. In April 2022 I obtained the Technical Aptitude Examination in classical dance and since September 2022 I have been a student in a pedagogical Bachelor's degree with the aim of obtaining the state diploma of classical dance teacher. Following my journey and my desire to continue and perfect my transmission, I offer my services in order to transmit the art and passion of dance for you. My pedagogy is suitable for everyone, fun for the youngest and beginners, reinforced and sharp for the most advanced.

We are a couple of tango dancers with more than 15 years of experience in teaching in Europe, Buenos Aires in Argentina and Montevideo in Uruguay. Our teaching combines elements of traditions and culture from the Rio de la Plata area together with biomechanics and analysis of movement. Our private classes are for couples and/or individuals, and the lessons will be tailored according to your needs and interests. Our pedagogy is encouraging, fun, and efficient. Private tango classes for adults in Geneva: beginners, intermediate and advanced. Courses can be taught in French, English or Spanish. You can come in couple or alone, the courses will be adapted to your level and your specific needs. A Uruguayan national born in the Tango culture, I am a tango professional with over 20 years of experience teaching tango in Europe, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Uruguay. My pedagogy combines the elements of tradition and tango culture with the principles of biomechanics and body awareness, always remaining encouraging, playful and effective.

I'm a qualified Ballet and Modern dance teacher (ISTD qualified, can also train you for recognized dance examinations) able to deliver dance and stretching/pilates-based classes at all levels. No equipment is required, just a safe space to explore your body's ability from the comfort of your own place.

In addition to ballet classes and stretching, I also provide audition preparation and competition training variations. My ballet class is typically divided into two parts: Barre and Center, which include adagio, pirouettes, and jumps. Upon request, time can be reserved for pointe technique. During classes, attention is given not only to the technical aspects of the combinations provided but also to their musicality and the logic of movements. Detailed analysis is also provided on which muscles should be engaged in each movement and what sensations the student should experience when executing the steps correctly. It would be great if you could share a video of your class o perfomance before our first class. This will allow me to assess your level and make our lesson as productive as possible.
