I offer private lessons for adults of all levels, in Geneva and Lausanne. I am a graduate of the Vienna University of Art and Music and a winner of international competitions. I have participated in numerous competitions, masterclasses, festivals (solo and chamber music) and I like to share my experiences, my passion and motivation with my students. I listen to the student to adapt to their desires and objectives.

*Maximilian is the violinist of Ensemble Contrechamps (Geneva) and a PhD candidate at the University of Leiden with prior degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Max has performed in major venues across Europe, The Americas and the Middle East as an orchestral & chamber musician, and as a soloist. *Lessons are 60 minutes in duration focusing on improving violin technique, ear training, musicality, and development of classical repertoire and improvisation skills. Max employs a blend of the El Sistema and Suzuki methods and aims to consistently improve and grow ones violin technique and musical intelligence in a fun and engaging way.

My undergraduate and masters degrees in Music from Berklee College of Music and Trinity College Dublin provided a solid foundation in both music theory and performance, which I have built upon through extensive practical teaching experience. I aim to strike a balance as much as possible between teaching technical skills and musicality, as of course there cannot be one without the other when learning an instrument. Lessons are a mixture of teaching and demonstrating correct posture, finger patterns or body movements, and teaching and engaging a learner with rhythm, pitch and melody, and then combining them together. I am a firm believer in tackling one aspect at a time in lessons and gradually combining it with another aspect of playing. I often include activities such as playing a note and asking the student to match my pitch or sound quality, or including musical games that can develop musical memory and rhythm. The most important aspect of learning any instrument is of course the music! Aiming to help a student find music (or if they have ideas they are welcome to bring them along!) that they love and find absorbing - this can be any genre, as long as it has a tune! I have a variety of books of different levels that I can use to help students find styles that are fun and enjoyable for them. There are technical things that need to be worked on in playing any instrument - but of fundamental importance is that the student has a feel for the music they play and a musical idea of what the end goal of any piece is.

My goal is to make people of all ages and levels learn not only playing an instrument but how can music help them in their everyday life. I am an Albanian violinist, with a Bachelor degree in Classical Music (Violin) and Musicologie in Sorbonne University. Over the years, my experiences with different youth and professional orchestras all around Europe have made me understand that music is important not only for professional musicians but also for everyone. I also pursued a masters degree in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I teach students of all ages and levels. I have thirteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools: Hart Muziekschool in Haarlem and Vioolstudio 020! in Amsterdam).
