As a singer with over 12 years of experience in music, including a masters in popular music performance I am a versatile singer specialising in contemporary music with interests in other genres such as musical theatre and jazz. Both within and outside of university, I have had the opportunity to perform in various contexts, from competitve music festivals to gigs and have won awards such as 'Young Musician of the Year' for my annual school music festival. I believe in the power of singing to not only express yourself but to send a powerful and universal message where words are not enough. For me singing has been a highly enjoyable experience and if it weren't for my music teachers and academic tutors inspiring me to undertake as many music opportunities as possible I would not be where I am today, and as a tutor I want to give back and invoke that same passion. As a tutor I aim to tailor my sessions according to the interests and needs of the student, whether they would like to undertake formal music grades or not.
