Good day! I am an artist and teacher with over 12 years of experience. I teach academic drawing and painting and the basics of composition for any level of training. In drawing I emphasize constructive drawing, the development of plasticity, and knowledge of anatomy and perspective. We will learn different materials from pencil and charcoal to oil. In the summer we will practice working with landscape in the open air. If you are interested in contemporary art, we will study modern techniques, working with modern materials, and the theory and philosophy of contemporary art. Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I have 9 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the nimbs. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.
