The purpose of our chats/classes is to increase your comfort and confidence with speaking English. Learning any language takes dedication and persistence, but I will help make it easier for you. The more you hear English spoken, and the more you try to speak it, the faster you will recognise the sounds, and the more confidence you will gain. It starts with feeling totally comfortable to try, and to make mistakes. And that's where I can help. ABOUT ME My family tree has its roots in England. I grew up in Mandela's beautiful South Africa. I later spent 9 years "Down Under" in Dronning Mary's magnificent Australia. Then marriage brought me to the lovely Kingdom of Denmark :-) I'm not a trained English teacher, however: - I scored 8.5 (Expert) on the IELTS test - I love to teach and explain - I'm super-patient and caring - My accent is easy to understand Let's have some relaxed and interesting chats to improve your English fluency and pronunciation :-) I'll be happy to share stories from living all around the world, and hearing about your life. LGBT friendly. MY APPROACH I know what it's like to learn a new language and I know just how scary it can be to open your mouth to try and speak it. I will provide a safe space, free of criticism or embarrassment, to help you overcome your fears of learning this VITAL world language. The English language can really be your passport to the world :-) The time it takes to learn English is different for different people, but the statistics show that the more you hear the language and the sooner you start speaking it - even if it's slow and difficult at first - the faster you will learn. My job is not to explain complex rules and grammar to you. You can learn those online or in a school. I'm here to get you speaking and listening, so that you train your ears and your mouth in English. And over time, bit by bit, I will also help you to speak more accurately. Luckily for you, because English is spoken so widely, native English speakers are quite used to hearing English spoken incorrectly. So there's really no need to stress too much about your little errors in grammar or pronunciation. Let's just get you speaking! :-)

Hello, My name is Giorgia. I hold a PhD in Italian from the Department of Romance Studies at UNC-University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I also hold a Ph.D. in Contemporary Philosophy focusing on Italian and French Aesthetics. I worked for fifteen years as a translator from French into Italian. My academic research is interdisciplinary and combines literary criticism and philosophy. My research interests include the relationship between contemporary Italian and French literature, the Italian and French avant-garde movements in literature and film, and the interactions between literature, philosophy, the arts, and film. For seven years, I have taught Italian at the elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels, and also taught a course on Italian cinema. In my teaching, I strive to contribute to improving conversational fluency, refining writing skills, and enriching vocabulary. Through contributions on art, history, politics, daily life, cinema, and Italian literature, I invite students to experience the complexity and richness of Italian culture and language. In addition to being my mother tongue, Italian is a language I love and enjoy teaching. My experience teaching Italian has allowed me to experiment with many different teaching methods, find my own unique teaching style, and, above all, develop teaching activities that have proven very effective with students from the United States, France, and many other countries. My courses are aimed at all students who wish to master spoken and written Italian, those who want to pass the Agrégation and/or CAPES Italian exams, but also those who wish to cultivate the study of Italian to progress even simply in conversation. Thank you for your attention. Giorgia

I am a history teacher, having graduated with honors from UNLu and honored by the National Academy of History as the highest national average. I have been focused on private education for over half a decade, both at the academic and secondary levels. Beyond my specific academic training, I have been dedicated to the study of history and social sciences for 20 years (and to the creation of a library—of almost 2,000 volumes—that is available to students: if any material is required, it is digitized and sent). I specialize in ancient history, medieval history, Argentine history, history of religions, and more. I have extensive knowledge of philosophy, theology, and the history of ideas. I also teach classes in politics, sociology, anthropology, art history, economics, and other social sciences that make up the corpus of history as a discipline. In addition to teaching highly prepared and personalized classes, he can also guide, direct, and assist in the creation of practical projects or dissertations, whether group or individual. For academic or school work, grammar and style corrections are also provided, along with tutoring to ensure the work is perfect. Classes are delivered in a constructive manner, with the key focus being on students truly understanding the subject matter, developing an interest in it, and discovering how their daily lives connect with what they are studying. Beyond academic depth and the presentation of the subject matter, a fruitful dialogue between professor and student is highly valued. This is my particular approach to teaching, but it may vary depending on the needs of each student. I'm also interested in sharing study techniques—beyond the specific topic we're going to cover—that adapt to each student's needs, since it's not just what you study that's important, but how you study it. * Finally, the class prices shown in the ad are averaged and referential; the type of work to be done, the number of classes, and the different dynamics and realities make it difficult for me to come up with a "fixed" price for the classes. Teaching is an eminently human service, not a trade in goods. Therefore: contact me and let's talk.
