I’m Rodrigo, a pianist and educator offering personalized piano lessons at home for students of all levels. With over 10 years of experience teaching at the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires and private students, I bring my experience to my lessons. I hold a Master’s in Piano from the National University of Arts in Buenos Aires and currently doing a Master's in Piano Chamber Music from the Royal Conservatoire of Liège and an Advanced Master in Contemporary Music from KASK Conservatorium Gent. My performances include solo and chamber music concerts at the Centro Cultural Kirchner and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, as well as international appearances at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany as the pianist of the Festival's Academic Orchestra. In our lessons, I will tailor each session to your specific goals, whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student. Pianist and musicologist, I have been teaching piano in all styles (classical, jazz, film and popular music) to students of all ages for almost 20 years. The teaching is modern, adapted to each student and combines music theory and instrument. I have two Bachelor's degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid and currently at the Koninklijke Conservatorium Brussels. I have a Master's degree with Olsi Leka, premier cellist of the Belgian National Orchestra. My courses are in Spanish, in Anglais et in french.

During my training, I had the opportunity to study with famous teachers with whom I was able to discover different violin techniques and different pedagogical approaches, which allowed me to create my own methodology. If Italy gave me the passion of sharing and communication (a typical Italian characteristic), Belgium taught me to convey a message, an idea in a concrete way. My meeting with Mr Lawson also made me aware of the importance in the life of an artist to share his knowledge, and teaching is for me the best way to put this sharing into practice.

Lessons in piano, harpsichord, and historical and modern cello, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history. In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony. My singing lessons are designed to help each student express themselves to the fullest, accompanying them in the process of discovering their own voice. I give in-person and online voice lessons for students of all levels and needs with a personalized curriculum depending on the student's interests and style preference. During my lessons I range from vocal technique to music theory with the intent of creating a personal and varied repertoire that follows the aptitude and predisposition of the student. I also offer the opportunity to explore the area of composition and interpretation.

This course is also perfect for an academy or conservatory student who wishes to prepare for the music theory exam. Despite the fact that this is a so-called theoretical course, everything that is seen will first be worked on in a musical context and experienced by the student in order to be assimilated. The theoretical explanations will follow from it by itself. On the program (student's choice) - Ear training (knowing how to rewrite melodies with one or more voices, chords, etc.) - Note readings in one or more keys - Rhythm readings, polyrhythmic work - Encryption and recognition of agreements, - Transposition. This musical theory lesson suits to every level, from the one who wants to learn how to read music to the one who wants to know more about chords, transposition or polyrythms. This lesson is also perfect for a student who wants to prepare an examination. In despite the fact I called these lesson "Musical theory", it is firstly about understanding the music. And that can only be possible by ... doing music. So be aware that we will be singing, playing chords, clapping rhythms, ... My purpose is that the student understand by himself first, then the theory will come naturally. What we can do during a lesson (student can choose): - Ear training (Learn to catch a melody of one or several voices and write it down by ear, recognizing chords, recognizing rhythms, ...) - Rythmical work: learn to clap different rhythms in different time signatures. Composer and tenor with a Bachelor's/Master's degree in composition from the University of London. I teach composition/music theory, piano and singing. I rely on classical methods (bass continuo/partimento) in combination with current methods to develop knowledge of harmony, counterpoint and form in a practical way through improvisation on the keyboard.
