Trusted teacher: Music Production for Beginners ​ My personally designed Music Production course is aimed at complete beginners who have the desire to discover how to compose, record and produce their own music. The course is structured in a way that will enable you to make the style of music you love. It is ideal for aspiring composer’s, producer’s, musicians and sound engineer’s. For this course you will have the opportunity to learn either Logic Pro or Ableton Live (GarageBand is also an option to get you underway), both are industry leading digital audio workstations (DAW). Each session is tailored to your personal interests and goals, exploring both the theory and practical applications of working techniques and practices, in order to provide you with a solid foundation of the overall production process. Lessons are held one-to-one to allow you to learn at your own pace and receive the resources and support you require. I will continuously keep track of and review your progress so that your objectives are always being pursued. Here is the overall course content: Which music software is right for me? Trusted teacher: English SL and Higher Level for the International Baccalaureate is a rigorous course, especially for ESL students. I completed the IB with HL English and received a 7 (highest mark) in my final exam. I will be able to go over both Standard Level and Higher Level syllabuses for the course specific to the material covered in your school, and prepare you for mock and final exams. I will include essay writing skills, literary criticism and analysis, as well as vocabulary expansion techniques in my teaching. A brief overview of the key features of English SL/HL as set by the International Baccalaureate Organisation: • Higher level study requires a minimum of 240 class hours, while standard level study requires a minimum of 150 class hours • Students study 13 works at higher level and 9 works at standard level from a representative selection of literary forms, periods and places • Students develop the ability to engage in close, detailed analysis of literary works, building understanding of the techniques involved in literary criticism • The study of literary works in context is emphasised, and through the study of literature in translation the student is challenged to reflect on the role of cultural assumptions in interpretation • Students are assessed through a combination of formal examination and oral and written coursework. • The formal examination comprises two essay papers, one requiring the analysis of a passage of unseen literary text, and the other comparative response to a question based on two works studied • Students also perform an oral activity presenting their analysis of two works studied • HL students comply with an additional written coursework requirement which consists of writing a 1200 - 1500 word essay on one of the works studied

I am a tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching at a variety of levels from primary school to GCSE level. I teach English Language, English Literature, ESOL (English for speakers of other languages), Maths, and Creative Writing. I have a special passion for creative writing, which I specifically studied in my joint honours degree (BA English with Creative Writing), and specialise in producing stories, written poetry, and spoken word poetry which I have previously performed at events. I have run creative writing workshops for children at previous educational centres and love to make writing enjoyable, engaging and exciting for all of my students at all levels. I believe the most successful results come from fostering a friendship with my students, and providing constant encouragement and support in their areas of interest. I pride am an attentive listener and I carefully plan my lessons according to the specific needs of my students, which is particularly helpful for my SEN, ESOL, and younger pupils. At the beginning of every lesson I also do short icebreaker activities and challenges with my students, using a points reward system to keep them engaged. Previous students have gone on to become the top of their class and receive recognition at school for both English and Maths. Lessons start at 1 hour in length, with longer lessons available if required. Lessons are structured according to the needs of the student; this can be working alongside their class syllabus to support them with progress at school, tackling an area or subject they want to excel at, and helping them prepare for national exams such as GCSEs. I provide feedback after every lesson and detailed progress reports every six months for each student. I primarily offer online lessons as I have found this works well for me and my students, but in some cases I do teach face-to-face depending on location and availability within London.
