Maths tutoring class for gcse, ks3 and SATs exam learing
I specialised in exam practice for GCSE and SATs.
In the lesson, I’m going to go through a topic (e.g. algebra) for 2 to 3 lessons, once we go through the topic and exam-style questions. I’m going to assess the students on the topic by giving them exam-style questions. If the student passes (70% and above) it shows they have a good understanding of the topic and we will move on to the next topic. However, if they fail ( below 70%) it shows they don’t understand the topic, therefore we will have to repeat the topic to make sure they fully understand it. I also expect the student to revise everything we have done on their own time so they don’t forget.
For year 11 and year 6, I would like to focus on exam past papers around 4 to 3 months before their exam and not go through content at that time. This is because I want them to feel comfortable answering exam papers, I will also asses them on the past paper in time condition. Once that is done I’m going to mark it and go through their correction, this will help them see their mistakes and avoid them in the near future.
My aim is for the student to achieve the highest grade as possible.
