Utopian Studies extends the notion from Thomas More's Utopia to the emergence of dystopian literature, highlighting the connection between fictionalized literary works and reality. The seminar is designed for students with advanced reading skills as the primary readings are mainly novels. Students are expected to carry out individual research. Further readings (journals, academic papers, etc) will be provided to support the discussion during the class. I am studying Social Anthropology and Politics at the University of Edinburgh. Classics are one of the biggest interests of mine; I started studying Latin and Ancient Greek languages and literature 6 years ago and I have been teaching for three years. I think studying these languages led me to be more aware of who I am as well as understand what is really worth. Latin (Ancient greek too) lessons consist of two different parts: grammar and literature. By studying grammar you are not going to just receive boring notions about the structure of the language, but you are going to deepen processes and rules that form Latin; with this method we are going to discuss about Latin and Greek mindset and then discuss about important themes studied by ancient people in literature. Furthermore, according to your needs and goals, we can exercise on translation of texts.

The course aims to provide an insight into the most widely read texts of contemporary Latin American literature, improve the communication skills of those interested and broaden the cultural horizons of participants. A program of more or less canonical literature is proposed at first, followed by readings proposed by those interested: We will cover the works of Cortázar; Juan Rulfo; García Márquez; Borges; Cercas; Grandes; García Montero; Zambra; Dalton; Junot Díaz. Holder of a Master's degree in Letters and endowed with a solid experience in private lessons, I provide French lessons for students wishing to: - consolidate their bases in grammar, spelling - improve their language skills (allophone students) - improve their speaking skills (conversation classes) -profect the written expression - prepare for ECR exams - prepare for the written examinations at the end of the studies (maturity, certificate of completion) - help with the writing of works of maturity (or other works of end of studies), of dissertation - work on argumentative texts - acquire a method to analyze literary texts - learn how to perform bibliographic research The course material is a Google Docs document that I create in which my explanations, possible links, exercises appear. By reading it regularly, progress will be faster. For help with writing: The objective is above all to acquire effective tools. For example, an editorial correction can easily be the subject of a detailed commentary of 4 typewritten pages. For adults (FLE): In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations. Whether to practice speaking in everyday life, the professional world or to practice oral presentations, I prepare either PPT or technical sheets in advance that I send by mail ( after booking on the website). The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling. Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.

I have taken a few years off to complete my PhD in History and I would not like to stop teaching and learning in the meantime. I guess it is a cliché, but it is amazing what I have learned by teaching.
