About Me

I'm a PhD candidate in neuropsycholinguistics and consultant to private clients. My advisory clients include the House of Lords, the NHS, People Primetime International, the Manchester Metropolitan University, Falmouth University, the Emotional Intelligence Academy, the YMCA, the Y Club, the Castelfield Hotel, the National Citizenship Service, Equal Education, etc. My mentoring clients range pre-academic, academic, and professional contexts. My PhD research examines the composite language and communication phenomena of schizophrenia, as relative to figurative language processing, using experimental psycholinguistic methods; my master's dissertation focused on paralinguistics: blended displays (i.e. complex facial expressions) of emotion; and my bachelor's took the form of a stylistics combined honours (i.e. linguistics with creative writing). My vocational experience includes a substantive clinical education post within NHS psychiatric services—specifically, as an interpersonal communications tutor; in parallel, I've provided consultancy services since 2011.

Spanish classes for foreigners for children, teenagers or adults; or language classes for teenagers
Hello! :). I'm Francisco, a teacher with more than a year of experience helping people like you to communicate fluently in Spanish, even when you share your learning with people of very different levels, something common in organizations like the Red Cross. I also have tools for students to more effectively acquire different types of content, since I have training on how memory works in adolescents and adults, thus associating said content with your perception of reality :). Also, thanks to my training in natural language processing, you will discover how artificial intelligence and new technologies can help you improve your language skills. It's a lot of fun, you'll see! I am available for you whenever you need me, even on weekends, which here in Spain we take very seriously hehe. Did you know, by the way, that the siesta is also sacred in Spain? Do you know why? Do you know about International Croquette Day and where it comes from? If you are passionate about curiosities, we certainly have a lot to talk about! I won't go on any longer and I look forward to meeting you in class, because I'm sure that artificial intelligence, curiosities and hobbies will bring us together in a pleasant environment and we will establish a good relationship between cultures ;). See you soon!

Having lived in France for a major part of my life, I gladly discuss french culture, history and literature with you if you are interested. I am all for making classes as enjoyable as possible !!! A little more about me, I have tutored a few students in French in the last few years, and I graduated from the IB in 2021 with 39 points in ETIS (ESPOO). I am to enter the University of Warwick in a Politics, Economics and Philosophy degree in the end of September.

Elise
French private lessons by university graduate in Letters
Holder of a Master's degree in Letters and endowed with a solid experience in private lessons, I provide French lessons for students wishing to: - consolidate their bases in grammar, spelling - improve their language skills (allophone students) - improve their speaking skills (conversation classes) -profect the written expression - prepare for ECR exams - prepare for the written examinations at the end of the studies (maturity, certificate of completion) - help with the writing of works of maturity (or other works of end of studies), of dissertation - work on argumentative texts - acquire a method to analyze literary texts - learn how to perform bibliographic research The course material is a Google Docs document that I create in which my explanations, possible links, exercises appear. By reading it regularly, progress will be faster. It can also be used in addition to other documents (files printed by school teachers and/or books) and has many advantages: automatic updating, downloadable on tablets and smartphones, simultaneous monitoring of what is writing. For help with writing: The objective is above all to acquire effective tools. The student will thus be able to learn to structure his ideas, argue coherently (and convincingly) and enrich his vocabulary. It is essential for me to have written work from the student between each lesson. For analyzes of oral literary texts: In order to optimize the time available (and to put ourselves in conditions closest to oral exams), we choose together an extract from a work that the student will have previously prepared before the lesson. This would take around 20 minutes at most, and ideally just a little before the meeting time. If necessary, I have the habit of taking a paragraph at random which would serve as a basis for analyzing a passage. For the corrections of end of studies work: so that the meeting with the student is at the most profitable, I ask him to send me his writings before the meeting. Apart from my presence with the student, any course involves a preparation time before and after the lesson, including the work that I correct. My goal is to design an individualized course, so I take the time to write detailed comments on corrected work or tips to ensure maximum success for everyone. For example, an editorial correction can easily be the subject of a detailed commentary of 4 typewritten pages. For adults (FLE): In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations. Whether to practice speaking in everyday life, the professional world or to practice oral presentations, I prepare either PPT or technical sheets in advance that I send by mail ( after booking on the website). The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling. Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.

38-year-old PhD student offers classes and tutoring at secondary and university levels for any area of Humanities
I have taken a few years off to complete my PhD in History and I would not like to stop teaching and learning in the meantime. I guess it is a cliché, but it is amazing what I have learned by teaching. If anything can distinguish me, it is that my personal experience has shown me that, when it comes to learning, complexities such as age are simply that. Experience in national and international schools. Possibility of classes in English (C1).

I am now offering GCSE English Language and Literature Tutoring :)
I tutor GCSE English Language and Literature. I am a 22 year old woman who lives in Manchester and I have a passion both for school and for teaching. I loved my time at school and worked very hard to get pretty much all A*s in my GCSEs and A Levels. While I was able to achieve great results it was not without a lot of hard work. I was diagnosed with Dyslexia very late into doing my GCSEs which was a shock. I felt like it explained the disparity I was experiencing through what I was able to produce verbally in class to what I was able to do in exams. However, I felt like it meant that I was just never going to get the grades that I desired. This was not the case. It simply forced me to learn other methods of learning the syllabus beyond mainstream teaching. When I was able to figure out how to do things in a more out of the box way I loved school and learning even more as it felt like it was more accessible to me. This has given me such an edge with my teaching now as I am able to teach the mainstream way of learning something while also dipping into my extensive tool box of methods that worked also for me. Since leaving school I have taken two teaching assistant positions at primary schools. I have also been apart of a Saturday homework club where I have helped children from the ages of 4-16 do their work. I loved this. I love helping people and love showing them that education can work for everyone. This tutoring group also led me to do more one to one tutoring sessions in GCSE History, RE, English Language and Literature. I am currently doing a Philosophy degree at the University of Manchester. While it is not English it is very literature and essay based so the skills that I have learnt are still used daily in my writing. My lessons are online but I do not find that it hinders the learning at all. In fact I believe it just makes it easier for all involved. (However, if you do live close by I am willing to commute). My typical lessons are very structured but informal, however, I change my lesson style depending on the needs of my students. Being dyslexic myself, but also working with many children with special needs, I am able to tailor towards anyones requirements. Look forward to hearing from you!
