The class is for beginners, intermediate and advanced - in other words anyone who wishes to improve their guitar playing and understanding of music. The lessons will be tailored according to your interests in music. I aim to encourage students to develop their sense of curiosity, creativity, and independence by giving them the tools they need to be able to find their unique expression.

What will we do in our lessons: We will listen to a lot of music and analyse them, learn diffirent techniques of writing music and how to shape a melody. We will also improvise freely on a musical instrument to explore your personal style in music.

Hej! My name is Steaph, I am a harpist from Scotland. I have lived in Copenhagen for 4 years. I am an experienced and professional musician, and a passionate teacher. I am happy to teach students of any age (6+) and anybody from absolute beginners, to advanced students. Being from Scotland, where the lever harp is a traditional instrument, I have a lot of experience with celtic and folk music. I am a professional classical musician in Copenhagen, but I also have a passion for arranging and performing pop music! I like to provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere for my students to be able to play to the best of their ability. I can help you develop a healthy technique: every student I have is different therefore I introduce exercises for each of my students according to their abilities and goals. I love to help students with the interpretation and performance of different pieces in any genre. I can help you to create a practice plan that is unique to your needs, time and goals.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. My lessons are distinguished by their dynamics, practical approach and adaptation to the needs and interests of the student. But it doesn't have to be this way, and for this I can help I've always loved theory, but it's because I started studying it by myself, way before I had to do conservatoire exams: so when the time came to approach it academically, it was easy. Theory is fascinating, it will reveal to you the mechanism of music - be it classical or pop - and will make playing and writing music much more natural. Like speaking a language you now know. I can teach it to you in a musical, natural and enjoyable way. All I ask from you is to have a small keyboard, but don't get intimidated - no piano skills are required! It's only because, in my approach, you need to visualise and hear it.

I am a classical pianist, holding two Master's degrees from the Royal Academy of Music - Postgraduate Certificate in Performance (UK, London, 2015), and Guildhall School of Music and Drama - Master of Performance, advanced instrumental studies: Piano (UK, London, 2019). During studies, I took part in masterclasses with world-renowned teachers and pianists, including Ian Fountain, Colin Stone, and Simon Trpceski. I did solo recitals in Russia, Switzerland, and the UK. I also won the internal piano competition Romantic Piano Prize, which was held at Guildhall School of Music.
