I am a professional percussion player. I graduated from The Royal Danish Music Academy in 2017 and I am currently attending the soloist postgraduate course. Choosing to do music can serve different roles in our lives. It can be a fun hobby and a way to find a private creative space or it can become a profession and a dedicated life choice. My approach to the lessons will therefore change accordingly. In my teaching I like to develop a deep and meaningful relationship with each student according to his/her personality and individuality in order to make each lesson as advantageous as possible. I always hope to encourage within my students a very deep commitment to their instruments and the practice of music. I am very happy to work both with beginners, intermediate and advanced students. With beginners I think it’s important to build a solid technical basis and knowledge of music and solfége and to work on how to build a productive practice routine. Lessons will be structured differently according to the individual, his age and goals, but keeping in mind these targets. When working with more advanced students I like to move the focus more and more to a deeper approach to the music and its meaning. Technic becomes the means to let the musician speak himself through the music he is playing. I think it is very important to let anyone find his own voice in music and explore different genres of music in order to find the one that suits you best.

I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (USA). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
