I am a University of Cambridge researcher with the Master's of Architecture & Urban Design program. I have worked internationally as an educator; teaching undergraduate classes at Cambridge on portfolio development and research technique, and also coordinating the Design Thinking curriculum at UWC ISAK Japan. In addition to teaching I have worked in admissions at the University of Cambridge, interviewing prospective students and assessing their research proposals for both originality and academic value. In my teaching I synthesize my experience as a designer and knowledge of the university admissions system to provide you with comprehensive advice on how to optimally present yourself as a prospective student - both academically and personally. Previous students I have worked with to improve their portfolio and personal presentation skills have gone on to join the University of Cambridge and a variety of prestigious London universities from University College London to the Royal College of Art. I will adapt my classes to suit your needs, so if this is you are just beginning then I can help you build a solid foundation of the English language from which we will learn sentence structure, basic reading comprehension, and pronunciation. If you already have a basic understanding of the language and are looking to practise or improve, then I will work with you to set your learning goals and adapt my teaching tools accordingly to ensure we meet them. This could include literature study - including comic books if you prefer! We might incorporate music or film, which can be writing your own songs or re-enacting scenes from your favourite films. I have over seven years experience tutoring in the UK as well as various European countries. I have been working in London as an outreach tutor for the past three years - schools request my services to boost the grades of students from disadvantaged backgrounds and instil a sense of success and achievement in them. I am a native English speaker living in London with a Bachelor's degree in English and Media Studies. I am also TEFL certified. For the past five years, I have worked with children across a variety of age groups in primary schools and Kumon centers as a teaching assistant. I have helped students improve their English skills either in small groups or with one to one support, and it has been rewarding for me to see their confidence grow in the subject. I'm offering two types of classes: ESL Conversation Classes: We can talk about a range of topics and work together to improve your conversational skills. We would choose the topic prior to the lesson (e.g. music, the workplace, travel, directions) and then I would prepare the lesson accordingly. You will be provided with homework to enhance what you have learned during the session. KS1 & KS2 English Tutoring: These sessions are geared towards Primary School aged children from Year 2 - Year 6. I can provide all-around English support as well as preparation for SAT exams. We will need to discuss beforehand which areas the student requires support before a session. Homework can be provided.

This class is for any academic ability. My teaching methodology requires me to provide an initial assessment of my client, ask them what they are struggling with. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice.
