He has worked in independent and state schools, accompanied choirs, performed recitals and gigs, and worked as a theatre pianist. James teaches individuals who wish to learn for their own enjoyment, and also students looking to take grades, in which his students have a 100% pass rate in all syllabus's, usually achieving high marks. His approach to teaching is friendly, empathetic, and enthusiastic. He values and encourages the musical development, and connection his pupils have with their playing, with the objective of inspiring creativity in their practice. James believes that music is a skill that anyone can, and should be able to access, and shares his passion for music with anyone wanting to learn it!

I have a musical degree in Jazz Composition and have been playing multiple instruments for 10 years. I offer lessons in music theory with a strong emphasis on improvisation. The instrument used for the classes would be a keyboard but the learnings can be applied to any instrument you already play. I can help with critical listening, ear training, solo building and many other practical skills. Any theoretical concept is taught based on the needs of the student and to serve the purpose of their own way of self expression. I also offer Ableton Live tutoring for whom is interested in musical production and composing.

Hello everyone! My name is Hoang with a background of classical piano in Vietnam. Currently I’m pursuing the study of this amazing instrument at the Liszt Academy as a BA student. My lessons are specifically for absolute beginners who don’t know where to start. My method emphasizes on the most basic skills such as how to read the music sheet, organize the piece into sentences, periods and phrases, etc. Of course, it would take more than that to successfully be able to play the piano. However, with me you can take one step at a time without feeling overwhelmed by too much complicated music theory. Instead, you can still progress gradually under my guidances. The most important thing is, the lessons are made for YOU, to give you a strong foundation so you can have the most optimal starting line. No more wandering in the dark with self-taught piano books or getting super fast results but feeling stuck afterwards with piano learning apps. With a mentor, you will have a map to piano learning that guides you away from deadly traps and take you to a direct path to your destination. Please be aware that, my lessons are not magic wands and I am definitely not a fairy who can make you skillful at the piano overnight. For a strong foundation, you will have to be very patient. Learning a new skill is all about whether or not you can grasp the foundation, but it will take far longer than you would imagine. But do not be discouraged! Because it’s my job to facilitate your journey and motivate you towards what you desire! We shall conquer this trial together! As mentioned before, I’m trained in classical music but also enthusiastic about music from entertainment mediums like movies, anime or games. Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

I am a classical pianist, holding two Master's degrees from the Royal Academy of Music - Postgraduate Certificate in Performance (UK, London, 2015), and Guildhall School of Music and Drama - Master of Performance, advanced instrumental studies: Piano (UK, London, 2019). During studies, I took part in masterclasses with world-renowned teachers and pianists, including Ian Fountain, Colin Stone, and Simon Trpceski. I did solo recitals in Russia, Switzerland, and the UK. I also won the internal piano competition Romantic Piano Prize, which was held at Guildhall School of Music.
