Civil Engineering student gives lessons in physics, mathematics and chemistry

COURSE: My Maths lessons are aimed at students from all secondary schools (from 1st to 6th grade) as well as students from the 6th year of primary school. (NB: I also offer courses in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, as well as English.) I am a patient and clear teacher who easily identifies his student's gaps and fills them quickly. As a bachelor's student in the faculty of bioengineering at the Catholic University of Louvain, scientific disciplines are also part of my daily life. I teach chemistry, physics and biology to students up to secondary sixth grade. (My science classes are taught in French!).

I started teaching because I really liked mathematics. I appreciated the fact of being able to share this with certain students as part of academic support, to the point of hoping to be able to make them love this discipline. Later, I liked the concrete side that economics and finance brought to this discipline. I couldn't stop and I made it my job. Then, depending on the student's requests and difficulties, I re-explain certain poorly understood theoretical concepts and solve exercises with him. For the exercises, I first let the student suggest his method of solving because each problem can be approached in several ways and it is much more productive to start from the student's ideas. I favor understanding by heart because I consider that memorization is only rarely necessary in math and science. Once the material is perfectly assimilated, we retain it much longer than if we study it without understanding it. My engineering studies allowed me to better link the abstract concepts of mathematics and science to concrete problems. If the student needs it, I can therefore easily give many visual and intuitive examples in order to speed up understanding.
