To start I will teach you how to play in a beginner friendly way by focusing less on the theory and more on tactics and rules you should follow during your game so you always have a good position. Then when you're excited about that we can move on to theory so you need less time worrying about what to play. I make my own courses and i will teach you how to use an online database so you have all the skills necessary to improve further. I specialize in teaching people on the autism spectrum.

We will start with the basics of chess, and develop towards playing a full, well-structured game. The typical length of the lesson is 1-1.5hr. I aim at teaching chess to complete beginners and intermediate levels for youth under 14 years of old. The lessons can be taught in English, Russian, Turkish, and Azerbaijani. I have been playing chess since I was 6, I was twice Azerbaijani chess champion among girls under 12 and under 14. I participated and ranked in international tournaments held in Czech Republic, UAE, Georgia, Russia, Bulgaria etc. I hold Bachelor of Electromechanical Engineering from KU Leuven.

I have 30 years of experience playing chess, I am a candidate master of Latvia, having an international (FIDE) rating of 2088, and an English Chess Federation rating of 2145, which is quite a good level. I am especially good at blitz and rapid. My greatest achievement is 1st place in English Open Women & Girls Rapid Championship in 2019. Chess is a fun game that starts with the basic rules and moves through the 3 parts of the game: the opening, the middlegame, and the endgame. The focus at first is to teach you how the pieces move, what the goal of the opening is, and how the pieces interact. You will also learn the vocabulary related to chess and chess notation. Tactics are then explored to take advantage of hanging pieces, lack of king safety, space, and tempo. From here depending on what your personal goals are we will adapt the classes to cover what will help you progress.
