Cello lessons for children and adults of all levels in Bern, Geneva and Lausanne

I teach my students how to play the cello and use it to express their inner voice. I'm currently doing my master's at Luzern Hoschule and I have already taught privately for 5 years and was also a professor at a music academy. I always try to pick the artistic side of my students and give them the tools to express themselves. Every class will be adapting to the student's struggles and evolution. My student's ages go from early age to adult and elderly.

I welcome applications of all ages and levels who would like to learn cello playing in a personalized way through different methods. After obtaining my Master’s degree in performance orientation, I am currently doing my Master's degree in instrumental pedagogy at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern. My goal is to guide my students in the discovery of the cello repertoire and technique by using innovative learning methods and the synthesis of the different styles of music.

I am a cellist from the Paris Conservatoire. I decided to persevere and come to study in Switzerland, at the Hochschule der Kunste, Bern. I've always loved teaching, it's been 6 years now that I teach regularly! I was able to start several students, from early childhood to adulthood! I also enjoy giving back the keys to learning to people who have not touched their cello for many years! You will understand, my lessons are for everyone! No age prerequisite! Hi! I'm Lucia. Italian professional young cellist, graduated with highest marks in Italy, now attending the Master Performance at HKB Bern. I have already experience in teaching cello and music theory for people from 5 to 99 years. I offer individual private Cello lessons and Music Theory lessons, in English, Italian and basic German.

Together we can develop your skill as a cello player, building a strong technical and musical foundation. We will find a learning style that best suits you. We can study the cello repertoire and traditional techniques and we can also explore the cello in less traditional ways - improvising, writing music, using electronics and combining it with other instruments.

I have experience with students of all ages and I believe that there is no right age to start learning to play an instrument. I adapt my lessons to the objectives and tastes of each student. Hello! I have been teaching classes continuously for more than 10 years and I would like to explain what you can find in a class with me! - To begin with, the most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I would like to focus the classes according to what you need. For example, we will not put the same level of demand if you want to play for pleasure at home without haste or if you want to do some entrance exams to musical studies (although always with the same good rigor). The needs of each student can vary the methodology, the way of organizing the study sessions, the postural work, the repertoire... - Once we know what we want to achieve and by when, classes will begin in a relaxed atmosphere. Important! Relaxed is not equal to undemanding or rigorous, just that we will try not to resort to military methods, especially given my character and sense of humor ;). - Something important to note is that my methods are very dynamic and with special emphasis on the development of the ear and musicality. No reading, spitting and changing songs. I try to avoid methods that focus too much on the continuous reading of scores without memorizing, listening or understanding what is being done and why, especially so that later you can make your own aesthetic decisions and feel ownership of your performance. Alert! Maybe I'll even make you sing. - Last but not least, it should be noted that given my training (I studied classical music and modern music and jazz at the Taller de Músics) my tendency will be to give the same importance to different types of music. We will adapt to your tastes and needs, but for me we can go from baroque to blues, from blues to Haydn's sonatas, from Haydn to bebop and from bebop to Michael Jackson. Why not?
