Concertist Celloist Gives Cello Lessons

The cello is a beautiful instrument from the family of string instruments with a warm, deep sound. The instrument offers the opportunity to play in a wide variety of formations, from solo to in a large orchestra. I have completed an artistic degree and am currently doing a master's degree in education at the Bern University of the Arts. I have already taught for two and a half years in Hanover, where I lived before, and would like to pass on my passion to children. I make my lessons as varied and stimulating as possible - the focus is on fun and games. I also like to improvise with my students on the instrument and am open to all kinds of ideas, including when it comes to the repertoire. But I also have a plan for how I will learn exercises, songs and pieces with the students, depending on their level of difficulty.

I teach my students how to play the cello and use it to express their inner voice. I'm currently doing my master's at Luzern Hoschule and I have already taught privately for 5 years and was also a professor at a music academy. I always try to pick the artistic side of my students and give them the tools to express themselves. Every class will be adapting to the student's struggles and evolution. My student's ages go from early age to adult and elderly.

Hi! I'm Lucia. Italian professional young cellist, graduated with highest marks in Italy, now attending the Master Performance at HKB Bern. I have already experience in teaching cello and music theory for people from 5 to 99 years. I offer individual private Cello lessons and Music Theory lessons, in English, Italian and basic German.

Through the arts, I like to learn, exchange and discover ever more innovative ways of combining them. I'm featured in solo performances on YouTube and other platforms. My master's degree in cello is from a top US music conservatory, and I was for decades exclusively in the role of Principal Cellist with outstanding, well-known orchestras that made dozens of recordings and international tours.

I have been teaching classes continuously for more than 10 years and I would like to explain what you can find in a class with me! - To begin with, the most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I would like to focus the classes according to what you need. For example, we will not put the same level of demand if you want to play for pleasure at home without haste or if you want to do some entrance exams to musical studies (although always with the same good rigor). The needs of each student can vary the methodology, the way of organizing the study sessions, the postural work, the repertoire... - Once we know what we want to achieve and by when, classes will begin in a relaxed atmosphere. Important! Relaxed is not equal to undemanding or rigorous, just that we will try not to resort to military methods, especially given my character and sense of humor ;). - Something important to note is that my methods are very dynamic and with special emphasis on the development of the ear and musicality. No reading, spitting and changing songs. I try to avoid methods that focus too much on the continuous reading of scores without memorizing, listening or understanding what is being done and why, especially so that later you can make your own aesthetic decisions and feel ownership of your performance. Alert! Maybe I'll even make you sing. - Last but not least, it should be noted that given my training (I studied classical music and modern music and jazz at the Taller de Músics) my tendency will be to give the same importance to different types of music. My teaching method is scrupulously adapted to each student I have, regardless of the subject to work on (musical language, cello, music history, analysis, conducting, etc.) I always apply the Belgian teaching model, where I trained with my master's degrees in Conducting (Antwerp) and Historical Cello (Brussels). According to this model, the main thing is a living and practical teaching, taking understanding and not memory as the main learning engine.

Hello, my name is Anna, and I’ve been playing the cello for 22 years. I have a masters degree both in performative arts and teaching cello from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. I have acquired a wide range of tools to inspire my pupils individually in their step-by-step development. I teach learners of all ages and levels, my students are 5-60 years old, from beginner to advanced. When I was 15, my cello teacher asked me to teach her younger pupils. I was enthusiastic of teaching, and I still have the same enthusiasm, but much more knowledge and experience. Playing the cello makes you beautiful both inside and outside! While playing the cello, I pay attention to the music, my technique, my body and my emotions. I focus on the same aspects while teaching, so we will improve your musical and technical abilities, as well as your awareness of your own body and emotions.
