My name is Gianni, I'm a professional musician, currently living in Basel and doing my master's degree in double bass at the Musik Akademie Basel. I've been playing and studying music since I was 7 years old; I started with classical guitar, then electric guitar and electric bass, then I started double bass and lately I'm learning saxophone. I would say my main instruments are guitar and bass and I have been teaching these for 5 years to students of different levels and different aspirations. For me it is very important to understand what the student wants and needs to guide him on the best path; I also try to always make the classes a fun learning environment. I could teach at my school - the jazz camps, in Basel - or at the student's home.

For anyone who wants to learn the violin or perfect their skills. Extensive experience with private students and music schools in Austria. There is an option to give lessons at home, online or if I am with the student I charge extra. If necessary, I will provide the teaching materials. Lessons in German, English or Spanish.

As a violinist for 21 years now, 12 years at the conservatory and 9 years as a private teacher, I offer quality lessons adapted to your level. We'll focus on technique (scales, etudes) but we'll also look at a few tricks to improve your playing. It's advisable to do some music theory on the side to be able to read notes and rhythm properly. I can help you with that too. I'm very patient and gentle. I can come to your place, but I can also give lessons by videoconference.

The purpose of this course is to give the student a wide perspective upon jazz music theory. What we will focus on: - Jazz Harmony and Analysis - Ear Training - Rhythm - Elements of Modern Composition and Arrangement The course has been designed for all of ages and levels!

In my career, my life is frozen, my Lust, my Motivation, and my Ratschläge, my life is erroneous. Even though the settings are individual and personal, the programs are different. Since I have been teaching violin and music, not a day has gone by without me saying to myself that motivation and pleasure are the greatest drivers of learning. This is why I always favor a relaxed and work-friendly atmosphere during my classes. Technique is of course of great importance to me. I teach musical initiation, music theory and the viola which I practiced in chamber music and of course the violin, my main instrument with which I perform in several orchestras and ensembles.

Based on the curiosity and concerns of the student, we will work on different aspects of the singing habit such as technique, expression, body awareness or style while finding the comfort and the pleasure in the act of making music. Complementary exercises as ear training, solfege or musical history can be also part of the learning process as long as it's useful or enriching for the student. Starting with the flute as first instrument, I discovered the voice while singing in choir and became passionate about it. As a professional choir singer I have worked under the batton of conductors such as Jordi Savall, Ton Koopman or Simon Halsey. As a soloist, I debuted at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the cicle of contemporary chamber operas OH!PERA. After working in Barcelona as a singer, choir conductor and singing teacher I came to Basel to explore further on vocal performance and pedagogy, studying at the Musik Akademie Basel under the guidance of Marcel Boone.

I offer lessons in Classical music theory at all levels - Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Whether you're struggling with the basics, or want to take what you already know to the next level, I'll adapt our lessons to your needs and guide you through what you need to make it. Trained in Classical and Early music, and having studied performance in harpsichord, organ, piano, classical and electric guitar, I've also studied chamber music composition and electroacoustic composition. A passionate learner myself, I have recently graduated with a Masters from the Hochschule für Musik Basel in Specialized Performance (Improvisation). These diverse experiences are necessarily integrated into what I teach and how. In my theory classes we’ll look at the fundamentals of rhythm, pitch, solfège, intervals, key signatures, cadences, and other important groundwork whose rigorous study we can then apply to real-life examples of music, helping you acquire a sharper analytical ear. I am singer, classically trained with a main focus in early music and voice embodiment. I also studied recorder, clarinet and musicology. As a teacher and performer, I focus on a joyful, healthy and technically skilled way of singing. I focus not only on the sound production, but also on body posture, relaxation and organic movement. An happy and relaxed body creates a beautiful, natural and relaxed sound. We choose the repertoire together and work together towards developing your voice, your expressivity, text and style interpretation at your fullest potential. I have experience teaching several music genres, from classical, jazz, pop, folk music and even extended vocal techniques like growls. I am quite open to the students requests and always willing to research deeper and expand my vocal vocabulary. Singing is a vulnerable, intimate and also communal act. Sadly, our modern world has mystified it into the sphere of the "born-talent" ideal, which often scares people from even trying to sing. I find this phenomena a cruel and exclusivist perspective on singing. I consider singing an universal right, and we should all be unashamed of singing, be it in your bathtub, while walking on the street, in a dinner with friends, or in the next open stage at your local bar. We all have the capacity and the right to sing. If anybody has told you that you can't sing, they were wrong. Like any skill, you can learn it. And if you sing, you, your body, and your soul will be happier. One of my students once said: "You come for a singing lesson and you discover something new about who you are". I think that would summarize well the space I try to create in my lessons.
