While I set high expectations, I also offer the support and tools needed for students to rise to the challenge. After most sessions, I assign homework to be completed by the next class. I certainly expect my younger students especially to complete these assignments. While my lessons are technical and follow strict parameters, there is plenty of opportunity for students to choose their own subjects and designs. I also highly recommend my student take excellent notes during my demonstrations and instruction time. I will always share my own notes and sketch journals so the student has a goal in mind. After a section of tuition has been completed (equal to a half term) I examine the notes and give feedback. Trusted teacher: Setswana is a rich, rhythmic language spoken in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Belonging to the Bantu family, it closely resembles other languages in the region. I have found learning Setswana through several terrific teachers, thorough textbooks and daily life enriching. Growing up in Botswana, speaking this beautiful and intricate language, or at least making an effort to do so, can transform the way you live in Botswana. I have taught semester-long regular beginners Setswana lessons to children aged 7-12 and adults, with strong emphasis on understanding grammar by breaking it down into “formulas” for how to form tenses and sentences. I teach these and vocabulary through a mix of traditional explanatory lectures, practice exercises and creative games, accompanied by study techniques I have found very useful for learning foreign languages. I have also worked as a trained English tutor, and study linguistics at university, both of which have shaped me to better understand and teach language. Each class will consist of grammar formulas (eg: basic conjugation in the present tense: linking pronoun [for the human noun class group, for example: ke=I, o=you, o=him/her, re=we, le=you plural, ba=they] + “tla” [as in “will”] + verb), some vocabulary words, spoken or written exercises or games to go through together and longer practice exercises to build independent confidence. My teaching materials I use I developed whilst living in Botswana, and have already been used with my aforementioned classes. I hope they can help you too !

With me, you’ll discover the countless ways the piano can express music. You’ll explore compositions from various composers, periods, and styles, from the classical works of Mozart, Bach, Debussy, and Chopin, to modern pieces, pop songs, and jazz, including Shostakovich. Through eurhythmics exercises, you'll not only play but also feel the music by moving with it, enhancing your musical knowledge and deepening your emotional connection to sound. I've played the piano since I was five years old and hold a Bachelor’s degree from the Geneva Music University. Learn Film Editing for Filmmaking or for Just for Fun! (Edgware)

I had 5 lessons with Alexander to improve on my coloring and editing skills. On the first lesson, after going through the basics of coloring Alexander proposed a schedule for the next lessons which we then changed according to my needs, preferences and experience. I really appreciated this because I could raise question on issues and ask for tips on the project I was working on my own. Even outside of the lessons he replied to the questions I had. In the last lesson I finished my project. Partly due to the way Alexander sees editing as an art form which motivated me to finish it. He also gave valuable tips on how to get into the editing/coloring industry as a freelancer. Really enjoyed the lessons and might request more in the future! Thanks!

Piano or theory teacher for beginners or professionals (Crawley)

It's a joy to work with Katie, she has a lovely personality and a very flexible teaching style. Apart from being a good pianist I value the fact that she is able to put music into context. She has the ability to comprehend and clearly explain the underlying musical dynamics of a piece, which allows her students to not only become better pianist but also better listeners and interpreters of music. Katie is the perfect guide for those wanting to gain a deeper understanding of music altogether.
