With an advanced degree in composition and a solid background in music theory, my classes are designed to develop your creativity and musical understanding. I have a Higher Degree in singing. The objective of my classes is for the student to find their own voice and know how to get the best out of it, while being able to sing with maximum comfort and in a healthy way. In my classes I propose to start with breathing exercises and vocalizations to warm up the voice and practice different aspects in isolation. Afterwards, the class focuses on working on a repertoire that motivates the student, that is appropriate for their voice and also helps them improve their abilities.

Les signes et les idées musicales qui se trouvent sur la partition, les mouvements respectifs de nos mains, les sons produits ensuite et entendus par nos oreilles forment un tout. C’est ce tout qui s’exprime comme musique, c'est-à-dire quelque chose de plus que ces éléments pris séparément. Comprendre ce rapport, c’est sentir plus nettement comment la musique nous touche et comment l’on peut toucher les autres avec la musique.

Each session will offer practical exercises and guided tasks tailored to exam criteria, encouraging students to build confidence and express their unique musical voice. Through regular feedback, constructive discussions, and assignment of relevant exercises between lessons, students will gain a deeper understanding of music theory, harmony, and instrumentation to enhance their compositions. My goal is to challenge students to think independently and to prepare them thoroughly for the composition components of their music exams, all within a supportive and engaging online environment.

I would like to focus the classes according to what you need or want, from learning for pure pleasure from scratch to preparing for entrance tests or focusing professionally. The needs of each student may vary the methodology, the way of organizing the study sessions, etc. - Once we know what we want to achieve and by when, classes will begin in a relaxed atmosphere. Relaxed does not equal lax! only that we will try to resort to dynamic and as practical methods as possible, especially given my character and sense of humor ;). - Something important to highlight is that I always place special emphasis on the development of hearing, musicality and the analysis of your references. Hello, my name is Francesca and I am David's 'assistant at the Conservatoire here in Brussels for Jazz Vocals. My lessons are preferably in english or italian but I can also manage in french. I teach vocal technique through body awareness. We’ll dive into the essential principles of singing: breath, resonance, and articulation.
