I'm an Irish guitarist with twenty years of musical experience, including as a rhythm guitarist in several bands. I offer guitar lessons for beginner and intermediate players. For beginners, I'll focus on basic chord structures, strumming patterns, and simple fingerpicking techniques. For the intermediate player, I offer more advanced fingerstyle tutorials in a range of styles, covering songs by Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan, Elizabeth Cotten, John Prine, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac and Big Bill Broonzy, among others. I also offer beginner piano lessons, covering a selection of simple classical pieces (Grieg, Bach, Beethoven) as well as some non-classical tunes (Tom Waits, Vulfpeck, etc).

Learning music and especially guitar can open your personality to a whole new world of emotions, knowledge and communication in such a unique way that only music can offer. After teaching for more than 25 years i can guarantee your improvement and your in depth knowledge of the technique and theory behind the particular instrument.

I am an all around guitar player and that's my philosophy as a teacher. All genres of music can contribute to build your own style. I was born and raised in Athens, Greece. I started learning classical guitar when I was 15 when I was already performing live with school bands, singing and playing the guitar and drums. After school, I took electric guitar lessons, film scoring lessons and Jazz Arrangement. I have collaborated with many popular musicians, singers and bands in the Greek music scene over the years, playing live and on tour, as well as in the studio. I also compose original music for TV and radio commercials, theatrical plays, and have been a guitar tutor at many music schools. As a performer, composer and tutor I draw from across the musical spectrum – from Byzantine music and composition studies to rock/jazz and traditional music. I try to break down boundaries between genres, experiencing music as an unlimited soundscape. In 2014 I released my first solo album called “Portokali”

I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run.
