Private music lessons all levels (singing and piano)

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music." Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (USA). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

In piano lessons, we use the book method of Notus or Hal Leonard. Everything is explained step by step and you gradually learn to read music and know the piano. At the start of our lessons we'll take a look at what is important to you. What goals do you want to set, and what feels achievable and comfortable? We set long-term goals of, for example, a year. Completely tailored to where you are at, right now. During the lessons I am patient, motivating, encouraging, and complimenting. I'll point out what could be better, and also pay attention to how you can play more easily. And much more. Tailored to your needs and wishes.

I am a Japanese singer. I also sometimes give singing lessons at the Academy of Charleroi. I also give private lessons in Japanese. I have a singing education license (Tokyo, 2010). I can learn Classical, Pop and Contemporary music, as well as solfège.

Ever since I was little, I was passionate about music. I have been playing the piano for 10 years and have given several concerts. Those who want to learn the piano, I adapt my course according to your preferences and tastes. If you don't know how to read the notes or you've never done music theory, that doesn't cause a problem. Graduated from the Paris Conservatory (diplôme supérieur d'exécution et diploma supérieur concertiste) with unanimity. Classical piano. Lessons of 1 hour per week. Together we make a plan to work towards something. This can be a concert or a competition. If I think the level is good enough, I may be able to program you to play in one of my professional concert series in the Netherlands. I was born in the Netherlands and currently live in Antwerp. At the moment I play about 50 concerts a year throughout Europe. I myself still follow classes with my teacher in Vienna, Paris or Barcelona. I myself am still preparing for major competitions, concerts and festivals. During my bachelor studies I also followed a minor in education. My teaching technique is very focused on achieving results as effectively as possible. My goal is to let the student enjoy his or her own game. We will bring out the best in you. With concrete exercises you will understand better and better how to study well at home. They are lessons you will remember for the rest of your life.

The content of the lessons is adapted to the needs and wishes of each student. It is possible to follow a combination of music theory and instrument, or only focus on one aspect. Depending on the student's goal, the level, teaching method and music styles are adjusted and personalized in consultation. Together we will look at what your learning needs are and which method suits you best. I am familiar with different styles for both harp and piano, from classical music (baroque, impressionism, classicism, romanticism and contemporary music), to folk music, jazz standards, pop songs or minimalist music. There is also the option to work from improvisations. The lessons are suitable for all ages and levels, the personal profile of the student is central.

I have been playing the piano for around 6 years. Since it is not my main instrument, I have had to find ways of learning it on my own already as an adult. Therefore, I have developed my own method to understand how the instrument works, which works especially well with beginners. I truly love the piano and I love seeing how passionate my students get when they learn how to make music with this instrument. These courses are for any age and any level. Total immersion in music. Classes are aimed at developing basic playing qualities, technique, and virtuosity. The main focus is on the improvement of creativity and imagination. Lessons include not only the practical part but also the basic theory of music. For each student, depending on age, level, and individual needs, I have an individual approach.

Hi! Have you always wanted to learn to sing? Is your voice getting tired after singing (alone or in a choir)? Do you want to be better at singing? Are you curious about what your voice can do? Do you sing in a choir and need extra help putting together the material in between rehearsals? I love passing on the knowledge of my craft. The mechanics of the voice is such a small and intricate thing, and knowing what goes inside our throat and body is a very special experience. I get excited and moved every time a student achieves a new skill, and takes another step towards a deeper understanding of their voice. On top of my experience as a singer and a teacher, I have a degree in linguistics. That allows me to know exactly what has to be done inside your throat and mouth in order to produce a specific sound. I can therefore adapt to each student: if they have an analytic mind, I can explain what goes on inside and what should be done to improve that. If they have an instinctive mind, I can help with metaphor in order to help the phonation. Or both! My method is multi-faceted because each voice is unique, and it is my job to adapt, and not the contrary. How does a lesson work? The first time we meet, we will talk about your journey in the music world. What have you done yet music wise, what artists and genres inspire you, what are your goals. Then we will do what we do in every regular lesson: I will direct you during some warming-up exercises, that include vocal technique work (if you have already warmed up, we just do a few exercises about technique), and then we will work on whatever you want. I ask my students to always come with at least one piece of music they want to work on (or maybe two, depends on the time we have on hands). See you soon! Manon (she/her)

My singing lessons are designed to help each student express themselves to the fullest, accompanying them in the process of discovering their own voice. I give in-person and online voice lessons for students of all levels and needs with a personalized curriculum depending on the student's interests and style preference. During my lessons I range from vocal technique to music theory with the intent of creating a personal and varied repertoire that follows the aptitude and predisposition of the student. I also offer the opportunity to explore the area of composition and interpretation.

French student who just moved to Antwerp, I've been giving lessons for years in France and it was such a pleasure, that I want to experience it here again. Specialized in Romanticism/Modern, I also improvise. I can teach the good habits as a pianist to never hurt yourself and to quickly develop a good technique and musicality: Position, gesture, and practice tools. I also love to link the pieces with images, paintings, and movies, to create a whole connected world of senses and art.
