During my studies in Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam (graduated in 2015, MSc.) and in addition to my job as a consultant, I have always taught mathematics and statistics to secondary school students and university students (HBO and WO) with great pleasure. Since 2017 I have assisted students from different study backgrounds (from civil engineering to psychology) with writing their thesis and since 2022 I work parttime as a math teacher and educational advisor in the Emma Children's Hospital in Amsterdam and I teach private students. Lessons can be taught in English or Dutch and face-to-face or online, depending on the location. Location face-to-face classes: Citizen M Amsterdam, at your home or in the public library.

As a creative copy professional and philosopher, I see every lesson as an experiment. To keep us both on the edge of our seats, I continuously explore new ways of teaching that fit your specific needs. Feel tempted? Book your first lesson and get one extra! Doubts? Dutch might feel a little violent to a delicate mouth in the beginning. But once you get passed that, a sea of inspiring and quirky new ways to express yourself will open up. To help you move beyond that hump, I will adjust my lessons to your personal passions and interests, including your specific reasons to speak and/or write in this language right now. Two kids that are roughly the same level can share one webcam lesson of one-hour minimum. Keep in mind that we will stay online for at least 15 minutes extra, as young ones will need at least two 5 minute breaks.

I offer French lessons with oral practice in real-life situations, a method that allows for better understanding and assimilation of the French language. And above all, no stress, French is fun.

Do you have to give a presentation in English but are struggling with anxiety on how to deliver something exciting? My lessons focus on building confident delivery and coherent presentations, delivering and responding to interview questions, and general public speaking for work or school. I have a PhD from Leiden University in The Netherlands, and over the course of my years there I gave presentations all over the world on my research to crowds ranging from 20 to 1000 people. I have also worked in a theatre setting as a producer for almost 10 years, and these two worlds combined have allowed to come up with a formula to help you shake off any nerves and get excited about standing up in front of an engaged audience.

I teach all levels of english and have experience in different age groups as well as levels. Making you feel comfortable in my classroom is essential to a good student teacher relationship. I like to make my lessons as interactive as possible. Students learn from me but i also learn from my students. Learning whilst having fun is key! I give all sorts of lessons, from speaking, to grammar to vocabulary. You know the drill. I try to use as many materials and visuals as possible, I design worksheets, stories and games for my students. Its most important to set goals throughout the proces and reflect on these goals after each lesson to know where we stand. I already can’t wait to meet you and start our learning journey together!
