As part of my program, you will get to know and explore: - Fundamentals: reading violin music, proper posture, intonation, scales, solfeggio, techniques and other exercises. - Violin Technique: correct posture, holding of the violin and the bow, finger and bow techniques through various exercises. - Pitch and Rhythm: recognize and notate pitches on all strings, experience diverse rhythms and meters. - Musical Vocabulary: basic musical terms and symbols. - Making music: learning to express your musicality through understanding form, dynamics, tempo and phrasing. - Repertoire: literature of various composers, understanding their style and of the epoch of theirs. *Development of competencies* Violin/viola students will learn a wide range of musical repertoire from popular children's songs to classical works. In the classes they will learn how to hold the instrument, the care of the viola/violin, and what is involved in playing it, where they will be given the technical musical tools to develop their maximum potential in order to play the violin with a pleasant, grandiloquent sound and enjoy each note through the stroke of the bow on the strings.

With 27 years of experience as a violin teacher, artist and composer, I transmit my love of music in a creative, playful and holistic way. I have developed a method that adapts to each student according to their needs, levels and desires. I attach great importance to creating a caring and relaxed atmosphere where the student can flourish and develop both a solid technique and learn self-confidence. We will also discuss how to work efficiently and calmly and we will develop the qualities necessary to express yourself freely with your instrument. We will talk about musicality, physical well-being (the importance of breathing!), attentive listening and we will take the time to explore while having fun. If necessary, the basics of music theory will be learned gradually. Although I have a classical background I enjoy teaching a variety of music (Celtic, folk, klezmer, tango, jazz, films...) and I encourage my students to discover the most beautiful melodies in the repertoire and sometimes even to improvise or compose together. I often play chamber music (piano/violin) or violin duets with my students. I am a freelance musician, performing with several orchestras across Europe. I have recently finished my Masters Studies in KASK Conservatorium, Belgium and am currently living in Oslo. Passion for music was the main vehicle that brought me to where I am now. But a big part of the origin of that passion came from the teachers I had contact with. ..... Hi I'm Daniel and I've been teaching the violin with passion and dedication since 2010. I've probably taught over a hundred students of all ages, levels and walks of life, from very beginners and children to aspiring professionals and mature enthusiasts — I really enjoy working and interacting with everybody. I've been playing violin since I was six, and was lucky to have amazing teachers and exceptional musicians from Russia, Israel, Poland, and USA, who tutored and mentored me over the years, contributing to my knowledge of almost every possible technique, style, and method of playing of this complex and challenging instrument. I'm also a professional viola player and I could teach it happily as well. I am a professional violinist. I graduated with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Master) and hold a Bachelor Diploma from Codarts (Rotterdam). I also pursued a masters degree in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I teach students of all ages and levels. I have thirteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools: Hart Muziekschool in Haarlem and Vioolstudio 020! in Amsterdam). In my lessons I help the students to find a good contact with the instrument and cultivate a positive relationship with music by integrating the development of aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body use, enabling them to connect with their musical imagination.
