I studied violin degree at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo in Spain and viola in Spain and at the Utrechts Conservatorium. I am a professional viola player from Estonia, currently living in Antwerpen. I have studied in multiple conservatories in Europe and have been a member of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. I enjoy working with children and I have experience teaching toddlers violin from the age of 3. Of course at that age it's more about the discovery of the sound and rhythm in our bodies in general 😊 I have also taught adults and I must say that some of my best conversations and connections have been made through teaching music to grown ups who want to learn something for themselves. I have had total beginners as well as adults who once studied at a music school and had quit for various reasons. Hi! My name is Charlie and I'm currently a member of the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen Orchestra. Teaching has been the foundation of my musical life for over a decade. My teaching studio has hosted a private studio in Oslo, New York, Connecticut and now Antwerp. While living in New York I was the viola and violin professor at Pluckd Studio where I helped prepare students for music festivals, auditions and to establish a sound foundational approach to instrumental playing. While a student at Juilliard, I coached students in Juilliard’s Pre-College/MAP program and helped lead children’s concerts in Chicago, Austin, New York and Oslo. Sometimes the explanation is required in a theoretical or more dynamic way through videos, music, own compositions, improvisation, imitation, and feelings. I'm a 24 years old Portuguese violist currently living in Amsterdam. I have studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Nobuko Imai and Francien Schatborn for 6 years from 2014 till 2020. As a freelancer I work with numerous orchestras such as: Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Radio Filharmonisch Orkest and Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. I'm also an active chamber music player, amongst others as a member of the Rotterdam Chamber Music Society. In addition to my private teaching experience, I have also done a teaching internship at the Muziekschool in Amstelveen during my studies, which gave me a lot of experience working with all levels of playing. In my lessons I always go first for the student's aim, what suits him/her the best and always serving the music. And of course having fun and pleasure in music making!
