Piano is the instrument used by the romantics to make their most beautiful music, but also by the most experimental and modern composers to create their craziest music wonders. Isn't it a great instrument to play? With more than 5 years of experience teaching in music schools and 15 years as a private piano teacher, I developed an efficient and "fun-but-efficient" way to teach how to play the instrument. Every student is different, which means the way to play and learn shall be different, making every single lesson special and rewarding. I've been playing the piano with great passion for 18 years, and over the past 5 years, alongside my studies and music-making endeavors, I've been teaching multiple students ranging from 7 to 50 years old. My expertise lies in truly understanding music theory and composing and improvising music. Having played in many pop and jazz (big) bands and creating daily compositions for solo piano and bands, I've developed an enthusiasm for these genres that I love to impart to my students. In recent years, I've also been heavily involved in music production, and lessons in this direction are also possible! I often use theory as a background to contextualize the songs we practice (which are often chosen by the student themselves). I use these songs to convey improvisation and composition skills. Additionally, I believe it's important for the student to develop their own way of learning. I strive to create a free yet disciplined learning environment.

Hello, my name is Sabine! I'm a soprano, actor, and singing teacher educated in multiple styles. I hold a degree in Vocal Performance (Classical + Pop/rock) & Musicology, and finished my studies at Fontys AMPA (Opera). I have also trained as an actor (film & theatre) at the Mulholland Academy in Amsterdam. My lessons are entirely tailored to your personal wishes. We begin with a discussion about what you'd like to learn, and we work toward your own ideal voice and sound. We can choose classical, operatic, popular, or musical repertoire - or other styles that interest you. The focus is always on healthy, sustainable technique. Learn to sing like Celia Cruz or Gloria Estefan! PrisciLa Musica teaches singing at the Muziekpakhuis in the center of Amsterdam. Teaches Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sing your favorite songs! You'll learn how to use the voice in the proper way, starting by your natural speech and developing it to find your own sound. I have experience in both Pop and Jazz styles (a Bachelor in Jazz Singing and a degree in Jazz Composition), so it's possible to study songs from both this repertoires. I also give Music Theory Lessons, to make the student develop his/her own style and musical sensibility and, in the case of Jazz, to know how to improvise on different chord changes and jazz styles.

My classes are different depending on your level and age. With children from 7 to 12, we start by doing easy vocalization and start training the ear with intonation, we then have fun singing your favorite songs. With teenagers, I also start with some vocalization, a little more elaborate. Depending on the student's capabilities, we start establishing a comfortable range for them and then proceed to singing. For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation. We then proceed to singing and putting into practice our technique. Some students might need more technique before they actually sing, I like to take things slowly and make sure the student feels confident and comfortable singing. I teach children, teenagers, and adults, from beginners to more advanced. Classical training enables you to sing in any kind of way, so don’t hesitate and let’s sing!

From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
