I've had the unique opportunity to work as the orchestrator and conductor for the soundtrack of "Ice Merchants," a film that got an Oscar nomination, a first prize in Cannes and more than 100 international awards. Besides working in film, my journey in the realm of music composition has been rich and varied, composing music for solo instrumentalists, chamber ensembles or even opera or large orchestras. These experiences have enriched my understanding of music, and I'm eager to share these insights with you. I am a classical and baroque bassist. Graduated from Amsterdam Conservatory (Bachelor and Master ) With more than 15 years playing my instrument and 3 years of teaching young kids and people from all ages and levels! If you always wanted to learn the double bass is never to late to start!

I can help out beginner to intermediate producers. We can start all the way from the beginning or focus on specific topics that you would have questions about. I can teach you to produce tracks in an intuitive way without the use of music theory but can also incorporate the basics of music theory in the lessons. I’m specialised in sound design, playing live sets on stage and developing the identity of artists. It helps me to get intermediates to the next level. When you want to start with music production you need to work in a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). I work mainly with Ableton because it's very intuitive and "jammable". It's a great DAW to work in, especially for beginners. Preferably my lessons will be focused on Ableton but I can also work in other DAW's because the fundamentals are mostly the same in all of them. The following aspects will be covered in Ableton Live: 1. The Basics (overview of the layout) 2. Arrangement, session and clip view 3. Working with sequencers and MIDI 4. Recording and routing 5. Music is Play! and everyone is its own game. Understand and make only the music you like. If it isn't fun, it can't be music! I studied a classical piano bachelor, and later a jazz master and a live electronics master. In the meantime, I have been teaching music and playing synths, drum machines, and computers. It's longer than 5 years now! Electronic music is a very vast world. The possibilities are endless. But do you need to learn everything, or only what interests you to make the music you want to do? From listening and analyzing a song you like, we will go through the necessary knowledge for you to achieve it: - What do you need to build your home studio in order to create something similar? - Which instruments (or plugins) are being used. - Whether or not a knowledge of music theory is necessary. - And in which different ways / through which paths could you achieve something like what you desire? At the same time that we analyze and learn, you are also going to be encouraged to create! Practice makes the master, and the more you create, the more familiar you'll be with the tools and the environments that we learn in class. A part of the class is also going to be dedicated to listening to what you created and going through different ways we may improve it. For people interested in live electronics (live-processing an acoustic instrument or programming live sets), I also have knowledge of Max MSP and I can teach the basics or help you program any kind of device you propose. PD: I have also experienced imparting piano lessons, which is also a very important part of my professional practice. My lessons are for anyone who wants to delve into electronic music & sound design. As an experienced composer, producer and sound designer I specialize in applying my broad knowledge and experience in the field of music & technology. Most successful electronic musicians combine different skills, such as working with music production software and hardware, playing a keyboard, recording and mixing, but also music theory and composition techniques. Because as an electronic musician you often have to deal with different instruments & other sound sources, my lessons are also very suitable if you want to learn to design your own sounds, not only to make music, but also as sound effects for videos or games, for example. Just like in my own professional practice, I teach the different aspects of electronic music production: - sound design ('sound design'), both analogue and digital - synthesis - composition techniques - software for music production, so-called 'DAWs' such as Ableton Live - hardware, such as modular synthesizers and effect units - production: recording and mixing of audio - performance of electronic music It is also possible to learn more about (Western and non-Western) music theory and the history of (electronic) music. From my background as a sound designer for games & film, much of me can share knowledge and experience in this. In principle, my lessons are always adapted to the individual needs, knowledge and skills of the student. For the youngest, my approach is to introduce them to music and technology in a playful way. For this I use my own collection of musical instruments that I have collected over the years from all over the world, and which I link to technology.

Hello everyone, I'm Enrico and I come from Italy. Right now I am in Utrecht where I am doing a master's degree in cello under the guidance of Timora Rosler. During my years of studies I always had the possibility to teach music, in fact while I was doing my Bachelor in Italy at the Conservatory of Turin, I taught cello and music theory in a private music school called "Isla de Musiqueros", in this school I had the opportunity to teach people of all ages, including children under 4 years old. When I moved to the Netherlands little by little I started to find students and many many concerts. I believe that playing is the best way to have fun and express your emotions, the work I want to do is work on tensions and try to help you melt away while playing, in this way you can have more sound and feel more free. Technique is also very important in the everyday life of a musician, together we can see the best exercises for you, to help you improve and have more confidence with the instrument.

Later, when I was three years old I was very interested in playing the violin and at six years old decided to change to viola! Gita is a professional flutist and teacher, originally from Canary Islands, Spain. She graduated from her bachelor’s degree at Conservatorium van Amsterdam with the highest grade of her class. She studied with professors Kersten McCall, Vincent Cortvrint and Mariya Setmotjuk, flutists from Het Concertgebouworkest. As a pedagogue, Gita is often described as enthusiastic and energetic. Her genuine motivation to teach makes her a very fun tutor, rejoicing with each of her student’s achievements and improvements. She is experienced with both adults and children, beginners, and advanced musicians. Her teaching method varies and adjusts to the students' needs and wishes. She pays special attention to creating a personalized education and experience for every one of her learners. Gita works on both technical and musical aspects in a (very) conscious way, making particular emphasis on having fun with the little ones! The lessons are generally given at Oosterdokskade.
