Hi my name is Osian and I’m a cellist from South Wales. I’ve taught children of many ages and standards and I really feel privileged to be a part of someone’s musical and personal development. Music lessons can be a way of reaching the concert platform or it could be a way of expressing yourself and being creative, wether it’s a career path or not. I grew up playing and singing where my first priority was to fall in love with music and learn to perform it to the best standard that I could do and that’s what I’d like to encourage my students to aim for too. I’m a BMus Hons Scholar from The Royal Academy of Music and I’m not studying at a masters lever at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

I am 21 years old and I am currently a flute student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I finished my studies in conservatories in France and obtained a license in music and musicology at the Sorbonne (Paris IV). I offer personalized lessons meeting the desires and ambitions of everyone, from the simple beginner to the confirmed musician. For the flute lessons, I offer exercises for sound, technique, adapted pieces. During music theory lessons, I can give tips for learning to read keys, rhythms, and offer dictations. Studying the theory allows you to learn to recognize chords, to calculate a score, to analyze the structure of a piece, to recognize the style from musical elements. It is possible to combine several lessons, for example half an hour of flute then a quarter of an hour of music theory.

If you are a music student seeking extra help in music theory or music composition, I am experienced in both areas. I have provided lessons to students in the ABRSM theory exams as well as Trinity in any level. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run.
