Classical and modern cello classes in Barcelona(Important! The schedules are now closing with the students I already have, so it is difficult to specify a definitive schedule for September)
Hello! I have been teaching classes continuously for more than 10 years and I would like to explain what you can find in a class with me!
- To begin with, the most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I would like to focus the classes according to what you need. For example, we will not put the same level of demand if you want to play for pleasure at home without haste or if you want to do some entrance exams to musical studies (although always with the same good rigor). The needs of each student can vary the methodology, the way of organizing the study sessions, the postural work, the repertoire...
- Once we know what we want to achieve and by when, classes will begin in a relaxed atmosphere. Important! Relaxed is not equal to undemanding or rigorous, just that we will try not to resort to military methods, especially given my character and sense of humor ;).
- Something important to note is that my methods are very dynamic and with special emphasis on the development of the ear and musicality. No reading, spitting and changing songs. I try to avoid methods that focus too much on the continuous reading of scores without memorizing, listening or understanding what is being done and why, especially so that later you can make your own aesthetic decisions and feel ownership of your performance. Alert! Maybe I'll even make you sing.
- Last but not least, it should be noted that given my training (I studied classical music and modern music and jazz at the Taller de Músics) my tendency will be to give the same importance to different types of music. We will adapt to your tastes and needs, but for me we can go from baroque to blues, from blues to Haydn's sonatas, from Haydn to bebop and from bebop to Michael Jackson. Why not?
If you like what you have read, do not hesitate to contact me. Learning to play the cello is a pleasure and I would love to share it with you!

Cello and piano lessons enhance instrumental technique, musical expression, and performance skills. Music theory classes provide an understanding of harmony, rhythm, and melody, essential for analyzing and interpreting music. Composition classes allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge by creating original pieces, learning how to structure works, orchestrate for different instruments, and develop a personal style. After teaching music theory for two years in a french conservatory, I realized how much teaching is very important for me and helps me to grow as a musician. I like to adapt to the student and try to find a solution in any pedagogical situation.

Cello (classical, pop, jazz), Music Theory and Ear TrainingLearning how to play cello can be very frustrating sometimes if you don’t find the right exercises or motivation. Maybe you just want to learn how to play some song of your liking, or maybe you want to start to become a professional musician. Either way, I like to work with music and find the best way for my students to enjoy the lessons and learn at their own rythm.
Tamir
Cello lessons for intermediate and professionals! Combining with body-work for a pain free experienceHello there!
My name is Tamir. I am an Israeli cellist living in Berlin, and for the past years I have been performing in various renowned festival such as Yellow Barn, Lumières d’Europa and Geneva International Academy while pursuing my bachelors degree under the guidance of Prof. Frans Helmerson.
Throughout the years, I have always been fascinated with the art of teaching. Through my main mentor, Prof. Zvi Plesser (The Julliard School), I learned more then just cello playing. I learned the value of persistence, search for beauty and expression. I have had the fortune of working and performing with todays most prominent musicians such as Daniel Barenboim, Krzysztof Chorzelski (Belcea Quartet), Donald Weilerstein and Gary Hoffman.
Now, after finishing my studies, I am eager to share my knowledge with you!
If you are a beginner, a professional, or an adult who would like to reconnect to music, I invite you for a search of discovery and fulfillment!

Online and Face-to-face Cello Lessons for Every LevelMy teaching approach is inspired by Paul Harris’ “Simultaneous Learning” and Phyllis Young’s “Playing the String Game”. I combine games and natural instinct to help my students understand playing the cello without overly-complicated instructions.
With 4 years of experience, I’m confident in taking on both young and adult students, from beginners all the way to diploma level, guiding their journey throughout. Learning the cello should be both fun and rewarding.
I tailor my lessons according to each students’ interests, strengths, and weaknesses in order to help them realise to their full potential. I believe in well-rounded development for musicians, providing musicianship, aural, historical knowledge, on top of playing the instrument
Feel free to get in touch to discuss and I’m happy to offer any help.
