About Me
I'm extremely passionate in music technology and addicted to researching new approaches to tackle music production in this ever-changing digital reality.I started playing drums as a hobby during high school, but I very soon realized that my career would be in audio industry.I started self-teaching music theory and different instruments like bass and piano, but I've always been into computers and tech, which brought me into the study path to become a sound engineer.
I finished a Diploma course in Rome and then obtained my bachelor in Audio Technology & Music Business at the SAE Institute in Amsterdam.
Since graduation I've always worked as a live & studio mixing engineer, sound designer and live performer, unless I was traveling which I did quite a bit.
I started teaching remotely and face-to-face during my long trips in different countries like Italy, France, Netherlands and Australia as a side hustle, ended up loving it while learning so much from it.
A couple of years ago I started selling my own tracks to music licensing websites with great results, which allowed me to refine my production and mixing skills and define my current mindset of a remote and digital approach to content creation. It also allowed me to make a living out of freelancing from home.
Education
Bachelor of Applied Science at Middlesex UniversityBachelor in Audio Technology & Music Business at SAE Institute
Diploma in Sound Engineering at CIAC Music School
Experience / Qualifications

Ableton Live - Getting your ideas down into a workable format to create a full working track! No prior knowledge needed!I specialise in making music with the computer when there isn't a whole bunch of theory knowledge there. I can teach you to quickly and efficiently make that tune in your head into a reality, then turn that into a full track.
If you have tried a few tutorials or courses and they didn't fit with you because of all the engineering jargon and theory based approach, this course is for you! I learnt to make music because I was hearing all these songs in my head but wasn't good enough at any instrument to materialise them. Ableton allowed me to hash through ideas, jam with them, then finally turn them into a full working track. I have also worked as a live and studio sound engineer so I do have the theoretical knowledge but can communicate in the language of learners from all different levels.
I think there are a lot of people that just need to express what they have in there head and Ableton is by far the best program for that. It is very intuitive, "jammable" and so much fun!
For me Ableton is my instrument but I also play the drums, piano and bass.

Composing Music using computer software (any genre)Composing your own music has always been a very rewarding task. This has never been so true as the present day when you can hear what you compose instantly by using computers to generate and play back your own music. However, to ensure that your music sounds really great there are many principles to be considered.
I have had a great interest in composing for over 40 years, composing in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities.
The class will be personalized to your particular standard and chosen style of composition. If you are a complete novice and have not used computers to create music we can use a web-based programme or a free downloadable programme. On the other hand, if you are familiar with a particular programme that you have installed on your computer we can work through screen sharing and sound sharing to enhance your compositions using my experience. I will tailor-make the class to suit you.

Composer offers private lessons in Computer-Assisted Music (MAO)My name is Roman and I have been a composer of electronic music for about ten years. A multi-instrumentalist, I began my musical adventure by playing the guitar and then the piano. After obtaining my Brevet d'Études Musicales, I trained in Computer-Assisted Music (MAO), composition, audio mixing and mastering techniques. I work on Ableton Live software. Today, as an artist-author, I regularly partner with other artists and contribute to a wide variety of live performance and music-for-image projects. For the 2024-2025 season, I am participating in several artistic residencies and stage performances.
I offer you a personalized, adaptable approach to achieve your learning objectives in MAO: on the menu, composition, arrangement, sound design, mixing... According to tastes! I propose to work preferably on Ableton Live. Write to me so that we can discuss your specific expectations and needs!
Classes take place at the student's home or by videoconference.
NB: the courses will be declared to URSSAF Limousin, the reference for artist-author companies.
