Hello, I am Maicon, a Brazilian-French guy living in Amsterdam. I've been teaching Portuguese and French as foreign languages for about 10 years and have experience teaching beginners and advanced students of all ages. I have a degree in French language and literature from the University of Lyon (France), also a Master's degree in Art History in France. Portugal is a beautiful country and during your holiday, or if you want to live there, you want to be able to understand and speak the Portuguese people in their own language. Or you are at school and you have chosen Portuguese as a foreign language because you plan to work there.

I believe that effective language learning should be motivating, fun, and adaptable to each individual's routine. It's a unique and personal process. Portuguese is my native language, and I also speak Spanish, English, French, Italian, and some German. Thanks to my experience as a teacher and student, I strive to understand each individual's needs in order to create personalized and effective lessons. My Portuguese course focuses on communication from the very first words, allowing the student to quickly acquire the language while gaining confidence and autonomy.

This class is for everyone who wants to learn portuguese. My goal is to provide the best tutoring experience and to teach you what you want to learn or need to know. In order to do that I will personnaly tailor the class to the needs of the student, be it on a beginner, intermediate or advanced level and we can cover a variety of aspects depending on your goals (from technical vocabulary to portuguese literary analysis). I assign homework every other week and I will provide periodic progress and evaluation reports.

We will study all aspects of teaching and learning Portuguese (theme, version, grammar, written comprehension, oral comprehension, current events in Portuguese-speaking countries, research methodology, sciences, technologies and lifestyles, written production) in Portuguese courses for adults but also for school audiences).

These classes aim at people who want to develop their Portugueses skills, both from scratch with some previous knowledge. The pedagogical structure is adaptable to the situation; school-aged children with Portuguese parent(s) who don't always have the time and opportunity to teach them, adults who need practical advice and relatively quick skill training because of a Portuguese-speaking partner, friend, traveling, etc... Students are always encouraged to develop their interest in the Portuguese language.

Both Brazilian and European Portuguese. We will start with the basic grammar of the Portuguese language. Depending on the pace and experience of the student, conversation will gradually take place in Portuguese. You will receive useful and practical tips to make learning the language even more fun.
