I am John, a Professional Violinist and Violin Tutor based in London. I have been teaching for over a decade and have a large public and private studio class in West London. I am more than happy to help anyone at any level reach their full potential on the violin.

I have over 3 years violin teaching experirnce, teaching students of varying ages and standards, and also offer the lesson in Mandarin. I help students work towards ABRSM exams or towards their own goals, also teaching who aren’t interested in exams and wish to learn for fun. I make different plans for different students. My teaching style is friendly and relaxed. But I have certain requirements for my students.

I use the methods with which I learned, such as books like Suzuki, Czerni, etc., always adapted to the student's age and level. The student's musical preferences will also be taken into account for learning pieces or songs they enjoy. There will also be an emphasis on public performances, as this is one of the most challenging aspects for musicians. We will try to organize concerts or recitals in a family setting to practice this skill. Hello! I am offering lessons in classical viola and violin from beginners to more advanced students, also occasional lessons possible, perfect for for example competition or concert preparation. For beginners, we can focus on ergonomical instrument hold, basics of sheet music reading and short, easy pieces. My goal is to make playing exciting and help you find the joy as a beginner. For more advanced students we can focus on technical issues, musicality and interpretation. I have a broad experience as a concert violist, and I have taught beginners for private lessons, and given multiple masterclasses for more advanced students.
