Trusted teacher: As a violin teacher, my goal is to create a positive learning environment while cultivating the student’s love for music. I believe in developing music-reading as well as ear-training skills in my student’s music education. I work hard to tailor each lesson to meet the individual student’s musical goals, level and learning style. I have experience teaching students from age 3 to adult and from absolute beginner to college-level students. As a conservatory trained violinist, I teach a solid foundation in violin technique, theory and repertoire. I currently maintain a private violin studio in Yokohama and one in my home in Kawasaki. I can teach in both English and Japanese. Learning to play the violin is a lifelong process. Music can lead us to new opportunities, meet interesting people and travel to unique places. Everyone can learn to play the violin. It is never too late to start! I look forward to being a part of you or your child’s musical journey. Trusted teacher: Over 16 years now, my students have been passing their English/ESL exams and have been able to tremendously improve their English skills to the point where they are able to now speak like Western native speakers! Essay writing is a huge area of focus in my classes as well! Not only do I and my team work with exam instructors to get the most up-to-date exam requirements, but also provide to the student the most focused strategies that are EASY TO UNDERSTAND, FAST TO LEARN AND FOCUSED ON A PROFESSIONAL ENGLISH CURRICULUM. I myself have scored 8.5 in IELTS and have helped my students achieve maximum scores as well: IELTS: 9 band (over a hundred cases) TOEFL: 120 points (56 cases) SAT: Full marks (45 cases) CELPIP: 12/12 (over 300 cases!) This excludes the thousands of other students who have been able to secure university entries or who have qualified for top-notch jobs thanks to their newly-learnt English skills. Likewise, these successes are the reasons why I love my job and continue teaching. Every day, I work hard towards achieving student results. The very moment they pass and thank me is something I live for day and night! With my TEFL certification, 15 years of experience, work with examiners, professional training for English teaching skills, background of working with students from all backgrounds, and most importantly DOCUMENTED TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES, I am sure that your requirements for your next learning venture will be guaranteed and pleasing!

Jazz Piano and Jazz Improvisation Lesson in English in Tokyo Area (Tokyo)
Yoichi
Yoichi is an amazing pianist. As someone with no experience playing Jazz, I found the first lesson very helpful. He brought lead sheets and explained how Jazz music is performed, walked me through some chord structures and gave me some structure for developing a practice routine. He was also very accommodating about our meeting location. I'm looking forward to future lessons with him.

Speaking/conversation in Japanese for above intermediate students
Emiko
Emiko is a wonderful teacher. She is patient and kind, and modifies the pace of the lessons based on what you need. Because my Japanese is so limited, it has been very helpful that she has a good command of the English language, also. Highly recommend her!
