While I am passionate about my subjects, I understand that not everyone is ecstatic about studying. There's no point teaching simultaneous equations to a struggling student if it isn't on the GCSE Maths Foundation syllabus! Depending on grade that the student is aiming for/predicted I will: ●spend the first lesson with students going through their exam board syllabus, make it explicit what content is the core of the course content and structure lessons in descending importance ● (for higher level students) spend the first lesson with students going through their exam board syllabus, identify the weakest links and structure lessons in ascending order of skill I believe in spaced repetition so revisiting topics taught before is a must! This will manifest in the form of: ●surprise questions during the first 10 minutes of lessons ●helping prepare and working through past papers when it comes closer to exam time to encourage active recall. During normal lessons, there will be a mix of: ●theoretical teaching ●helping the student digest, understand and store useful information that has been presented ●visual aspects (diagrams) In order for students to efficiently absorb knowledge, I will teach one core topic per lesson. Top Tip if you want to get the most from me: Ask questions! I aim to have a friendly environment in lessons, I am not your teacher - I am your helper!

LATIN I essentially offer a living Latin course based on the Orberg method, acclaimed by thousands of Latinists around the world. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, I can accompany you on the chapters corresponding to your level of Familia Romana (first volume) or Roma Aeterna (second volume). It is therefore important that you get this book. If you want to work on Familia Romana, I also highly recommend that you purchase the Vivarium Novum workbook to consolidate your learning: volume I for chapters I to XIX, volume II for chapters XX to XXXIV. Every person has their own unique way of learning. Your lessons with me are an opportunity to learn English in a supportive, non-judgmental and empathetic environment. We will focus on exactly what you need to gain; learning at your pace; achieving your goals. Lesson times are quality time for you. It is amazing how much you learn in a conducive environment. We can work on developing grammar, vocabulary, writing or speaking skills. Do you need English for work, or travel, studying for school exams or university entrance tests? We can work towards any of these goals. All materials will be provided by email. You won’t need to spend time writing lots of notes but rather on having enjoyable and highly productive lessons. Any age or level is welcome. I have taught children from 4 years of age to adults of 72 years of age; one-to-one lessons or in pairs or small groups. Classes are conducted online via WhatsApp, Skype or Zoom. In our first online meeting, I would like to find out a little bit about yourself and your reasons for needing English lessons. When I know what you wish to achieve, I can adapt the lesson materials to focus on exactly what you want to do. I am a TefL accredited English teacher with 16 years of experience teaching one-to-one lessons. I hold three university degrees. I have personal experience learning a new language and can therefore be empathetic in my teaching style as I know how daunting and tough it can be.
