Vasileios - Utrecht£41
Trusted teacher: Hello there! My name is Vasilis and I am a jazz/rock/eastern traditional and classical guitar player, singer and songwriter currently studying as a 3rd year student in the Jazz and Pop guitar department of HKU conservatory. I am coming from Greece where I graduated from my first bachelor on classical guitar and the last three years I live, study, work and play in Utrecht. My teaching career started very early, 12 years ago when my classical guitar teacher let me teach my first student and since then I have worked in multiple music schools and in private lessons with students of every age. This year I also started giving my first band coaching group lessons. In my lessons I try to create a learning path that is formed arround the interests and taste of each student. Since I am a singer and songwriter the lessons can also focus on the creating part of music if of course the student is interested in that. I work with empathy and sensitivity arround the needs of each student. As for my playing career, I play with multiple bands on original songs of mine or covers in different venues and festivals in Europe. The genres differ between pop, jazz, rock, eastern traditional and blues so I can give a big variety of stylistic directions to each student. Last but not least, I am also a singer and because of my good performance in school, I was awarded from the HKU Conservatory the oportunity to follow the vocal curriculum of the school as well. So I can help you with singing too!

Trusted teacher: Do you or your child want to play the flute? Or to learn how enjoyable can it be? You are most welcome! Learning to play the instrument is an opportunity to enter the world of music and become a musician. More importantly, you learn the joy of creating music by yourself. I invite beginners as well as children or adults who have already had some experiences with playing and want to develope their skills. I invite beginners, children and adults, as well as experienced players, to develop their skills. I also offer lessons for duos or trios – two or three different recorders, flute and piano or guitar, or two flutes. In this case, we focus on the skills needed for ensemble playing and less on individual technique, so this option is not for absolute beginners. The cost per person for ensemble lessons will be lower. How does a lesson with me look like? It depends on your level and what we focus on, but we will certainly do some preparatory exercises. You will present what you have been preparing since last time, and we will work on some details. If there is time, we shall then try something new. We can also play duos together. A lesson last about an hour, or 45 minutes for younger pupils. I can adjust the repertoire to your preferences, to your needs and to your level, but I shall also encourage you to learn some new and unfamiliar styles. I like to use notated music in the process of learning, so that in the future you will feel comfortable about reading music, but we can also sometimes improvise, or play something you remember without notation. Along the way, you will learn some music theory, which is necessary part of becoming a musician. I also offer music theory lessons alone, if you wish.

Ayla - Utrecht£58
Trusted teacher: My goal as a music teacher is to make the students able to experience all types of emotions by playing music, understanding the musical process from its roots with a creative approach. My lessons are designed according to the specific needs of each student and the main objective is to guide them in the optimal direction to achieve their full potential in a fun way. Thereby, the instrument becomes a tool to understand what making music really means and will be a way for the student to express his emotions. My approach to the lessons can provide a lot of creativity, fun and originality. How will my lessons look like From the first lesson, the student will start making music. We will begin learning the basic concepts of music, developing listening and rhythmic skills with fun exercises. Lessons will also be focused on learning the basics of music theory, creating a solid technical base and paying special attention to having a relaxed and healthy body posture. My academic and professional experience has helped me create a teaching method where improvisation is an essential tool for the student. I enjoy working on it from the beginning since it is a perfect way to develop musicality. Playing different music genres together As a musician, another of my sources of inspiration is to get to know and to learn from different styles, playing and experimenting with music from the classical period until the most avant-garde style. During the lessons, we will play pop, jazz, classical and many other styles. I would like to explore the instrument with the student in a fun way, growing, improving, and discovering new ways of making music together. During the lessons the students and I could play together, either playing some duos with the cello or accompanying them with the piano, which is an activity that I really enjoy. Playing together with more people and with a polyphonic instrument from the beginning will give the student clues to learn how to play in ensembles and listen to all the different voices that can be part of any musical composition.

Trusted teacher: Hello (future) musician! Do you also have a song in your head that you would like to play? Always wanted to play electric or acoustic guitar or bass guitar? Have you never touched a string, or are you advanced and looking for new challenges? I have been giving guitar lessons since 2007 with great pleasure. In addition to these private lessons, I worked at the Guitar Academy in Amsterdam, at Muziekles Den Bosch and at Art in Music in Utrecht, next to my work as an executive musician. I studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg and Musicology at Utrecht University. Broad interests, reflected in the hoevelheid styles I play and education (from pop and rock to salsa, tango and gypsy to metal and jazz). I also give solfège and music theory. It does not matter how exotic your interest, I can help you get better! In addition, I can choose and arrange songs for you, so that there is no limit to your imagination: learn to play what you want to learn to play. These lessons are not given in a large, impersonal music school: lesson duration and lesson dates are discussed and are flexible. Personal and smooth, easier for everyone. Besides guitar enthusiast teaching is a big passion of mine, and I think that is essential to be able to offer good lessons. Whether I teach you how to play your first songs in a few lessons, or whether we are going to pick up some tough pieces, it is a pleasant and productive learning process. Lessons in Wittevrouwen, Utrecht or at extra cost at home. If you have questions, mail or call!

Héctor
As an adult, embarking in learning how to play the cello without any musical background is a daunting challenge. Hector has made the start of my journey a very pleasant and enriching one. We started with the fundamentals of music theory, have worked through the physical challenges of playing this instrument and continue to build on the right and left hand techniques. He is a passionate cellist who efortlessly welcomes you into the beauty of his art. I'm definitely happy to recommend him as a teacher.

Kelly
Kelly is a lovely person and great teacher. I had a number of classes with her online via Zoom in order to get help with a beginners level Python data analysis course I was doing. I would not have gotten through the course without her patience and help in explaining different concepts. I highly recommend her as a tutor if you are struggling with coding!
