Depending on grade that the student is aiming for/predicted I will: ●spend the first lesson with students going through their exam board syllabus, make it explicit what content is the core of the course content and structure lessons in descending importance ● (for higher level students) spend the first lesson with students going through their exam board syllabus, identify the weakest links and structure lessons in ascending order of skill I believe in spaced repetition so revisiting topics taught before is a must! This will manifest in the form of: ●surprise questions during the first 10 minutes of lessons ●helping prepare and working through past papers when it comes closer to exam time to encourage active recall. During normal lessons, there will be a mix of: ●theoretical teaching ●helping the student digest, understand and store useful information that has been presented ●visual aspects (diagrams) In order for students to efficiently absorb knowledge, I will teach one core topic per lesson. We can work on developing grammar, vocabulary, writing or speaking skills. Do you need English for work, or travel, studying for school exams or university entrance tests? We can work towards any of these goals. All materials will be provided by email. You won’t need to spend time writing lots of notes but rather on having enjoyable and highly productive lessons. Any age or level is welcome. I have taught children from 4 years of age to adults of 72 years of age; one-to-one lessons or in pairs or small groups. Classes are conducted online via WhatsApp, Skype or Zoom. In our first online meeting, I would like to find out a little bit about yourself and your reasons for needing English lessons. When I know what you wish to achieve, I can adapt the lesson materials to focus on exactly what you want to do.
