I am a Manchester based actress and I have been working professionally in the Musical Theatre industry for 10 years after graduating from Laine Theatre Arts in 2015. I have been lucky enough to travel the world as a Lead Vocalist and perform in several plays, pantomimes, musicals and commercials. I am super passionate about teaching others and getting the absolute best out of them. I truly believe encouragement and confidence is the key to success! I have taught Musical Theatre, Singing and Dance for over 15 years and specialise in acting through song. I love bringing my acting training in to songs and really thinking about the words we are singing and what we are trying to achieve through this, what is the purpose of the song etc - this is so important and can be transformational! I can also help with technique, warm ups and cool downs, vocal health and audition prep in either Pop or Musical Theatre. Also because I am still currently working in the industry I have first hand knowledge in what is happening at the moment and how things work. Something else that I appreciate about Cecile is that she uses a wide array of teaching materials, not leaving space for boredom or an incomplete understanding of a topic. She incorporates texts, videos, audio, fun quizzes, and exercises from different sources and genres, covering various aspects of the French language and culture. She also encourages to practice comprehensively - speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in a balanced way. Mary has been great in our interactions. At the moment, we are meeting twice a week for an hour each session. She started with a class in which we got to know each other and she listen to my goals. Then, she prepared exercises and lessons specially designed to help me reach those goals with practice and also prepared lessons to help me continue growing as a guitar player. Moreover, she goes often out of her way to get songs challenging to my level, but that are doable with enough practice. In all, I am enjoying quite a lot of our classes and I am always looking forward to them.
