I'm very passionate about music and guitar in particular and it brings me a lot of joy to be able to share this passion. I enjoy being able to explain a musical topic well, working on it together with a student and seeing them grow into musician they aspire to be. I don't think everybody who is a good musician can be a good teacher and I had some bad teachers in my life so I put a lot of effort in being on the top of my game. It is important for me to have a comfortable and friendly atmosphere during lessons, set individual goals based on musical tastes and have a structured, personalised approach. This class is meant for students of different age groups and playing levels. From absolute beginners to more advanced players. The approach is individual and we will discuss the desired goals in advance and build the learning process around those. Some topics that are usually covered are rhythm guitar, being able to accompany yourself while singing (in different styles and techniques), lead guitar, improvisation (from basics to advanced), general knowledge of the fretboard and technique. There will very likely be some degree of music theory during guitar lessons as I am a firm believer that you have to understand the thing you're learning to fully master it, but no worries - it will only be as much as is necessary to have the control and understanding of the instrument in a chosen style (and if you are into music theory I will be more than happy to nerd out together!).

Then slowly the formation of sentences, conjugation, grammar but also you how to pronounce each word well and know their positions in the sentence. What is more fascinating is while taking my lessons I noticed most of my students speak Wolof with a very clear accent in Wolof because I often insist on phonetics. Very clear as to what his teaching methods and goals are, how he'll help you get there - then jumps right in and gets you started with no fuss. I found myself speaking sentences in Wolof by the end of the lesson, and really appreciate the additional written material he supplied as well. As someone who has taught and learned various other languages I can tell that Dembane has a really sound methodology. I'll add to this review in a few months time, but so far I am impressed. Also glad that he is pointing out regional differences between Senegal and Gambia usage to me, as it's relevant to my learning needs. He does personalise the content for the individual student, which is good to see.

I had my first class with Dmytro and I really enjoyed it. He takes his classes very seriously (he was very punctual, he had indicated to me in advance the apps/tools needed for the class, he was asking if I have questions, he replied very quickly to my messages before the class...). Also, he was very patient with me (I have a low level in chess...). I liked a lot that he was not just explaining "book" theory of chess, but also the practical tricks. I will book a second class. 100% recommended :)

So far, I have had two sessions with Hamid and the experience has been pleasant. I find that Hamid was well prepared before the classes began. He made his own notes, schedule and was very organised with his approach as a tutor. Professional, clear about his teaching methods etc,. As a tutor, he is very patient and explains everything with a simple and understandable analogies. I am happy with his teaching and hopefully will continue to do so. Highly recommended.
