Trusted teacher: I graduated from the music academy in Aalter in 2019 for piano. I also had a very good teacher myself, from whom I learned a few things. A first lesson always starts with a short conversation about what the expectations are that the student has and what he or she would like to be able to do at the end of the lesson or series of lessons. I like working with chords and improvising. Over the years I have developed my way of playing almost all the music you hear on the radio at different levels relatively quickly, after some practice. If you also want to be able to do this, I can certainly help you on your way and give useful tips from my own experience. Do you want to learn to play with chords yourself and receive practical tips and guidance or are you looking for coaching in learning new pieces? If you want to learn to read and play sheet music on the piano yourself, I can certainly give you a crash course and guide you through your first pieces of music. Anyone of any level can come to me, although it is recommended to have a basic knowledge of music and piano in order to work efficiently. I also have 2 younger sisters who play the piano and I regularly help them practice new pieces. I always remain patient and explain it 100 times if necessary until it is in the fingers. As a piano student I experienced myself that this is the most pleasant and best way to practice piano pieces.

Later, at the age of seven, I eagerly embraced the violin, adding its enchanting melodies to my repertoire. I achieved a professional mid-grade in both piano and violin. Fueled by my love for music, I moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands, to pursue a Bachelor's degree at Codarts University of Arts. Under the guidance of teachers like Natasha Morozova and Hed Yaron Meyerson, I refined my skills and nurtured my artistic vision. After completing my Bachelor's studies, I continued my musical exploration in Codarts' Master's program. Alongside my classical training, I've always been intrigued by the therapeutic potential of music. In 2023, I earned certification in Music Therapy, expanding my horizons and deepening my connection to the healing power of music. In collaboration with my colleagues, I am member of the Olga Trio. Our mission is to highlight the works of women composers throughout history. Our debut performance at the IV Concurso Nacional de Interpretación de Obras de Mujeres Compositoras was a proud moment, affirming our commitment to amplifying diverse voices in music. Beyond classical music, I've always been drawn to exploring different genres and styles. As a member of the Jong Metropole Orchestra in 2023, I relished the opportunity to collaborate with musicians from diverse backgrounds, pushing the boundaries of traditional musical conventions. In every note I play and every project I undertake, my passion for music shines through. It's a journey of exploration, growth, and discovery, and I'm excited to continue sharing my love for music with the world. I've been teaching during the last 8 years. We have only just started with Kevin, but we find him very pleasant to work with, and our daughter was comfortable with him right away. He can teach in either English or Chinese, which is a benefit for our family. We can feel that he is a real musician, and wants to share the love of music, not just the technical mastery, with his students. This is something we really appreciate. Good feeling so far, and our daughter is looking forward to learning from Kevin!

Yu-Ya is an excellent teacher. She is nice, patient, and enthusiastic. She chose the pieces according to my level and interests, and she made the practice plan to strengthen my weaknesses. The most impressive part is she pointed out my blindspot and tried different methods to work on my terrible sense of tempo, which works very well. Highly recommended!
