Trusted teacher: Concertist and teacher, Johanna studied piano solo at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin Hanns Eisler and now continues them as a Master at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. A committed pedagogue, Johanna favors the expansion of the repertoires mastered by her students, and associates improvisation, harmony and knowledge of the context (historical and musical) to these courses. She has taught at the Franco-German Music School in Berlin and at the Conservatoire in Rouen and now holds a class at the Ecole de Piano de Rouen. Johanna pursues a career as a concert artist, she plays regularly in chamber music with her trio Hémisphères and as a soloist in various repertoires in France and Germany _Paris, Berlin, Rouen, Baden-Baden, Aix-en-Provence ... She plays in the Musique Dans la rue, Piano Demain, Jeune Talents, Piano Tremplin festivals, and received a special prize. Graduated from the Hanns Eisler School in Berlin. She was a pupil of Stephen Arnold and Konrad Maria Engel. She is also a student of Frédéric Aguessy, and has benefited from lessons given by Jean-Claude Pennetier, Ralph Gothoni, Cécile Hugonnard-Roche, Anne Queffelec, Philippe Entremont, Yovan Markovitch, Isabel Charisius and Hervé Nkaoua. In addition, she followed a course in conducting, analysis, harpsichord and accompaniment. She is currently pursuing a Master's in choir conducting in partnership with the Sorbonne and a Master's in solo piano at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. She studied the physiological posture of the musician in Berlin accompanied by a solid practical training in the areas of kinesis management, relaxation, and breathing (Pilates, Alexander Techniques, Feldenkreis, School of Breathing, School of the back). She can give lessons in French, English, German.

Trusted teacher: It is never too late to start or resume learning piano! My teaching experience makes me a witness to this. Perhaps you came looking for piano lessons because you wish to be able to play some particular pieces, or to develop specific skills. Or maybe you don't know what your goal is yet, but are fond of the sound of the piano and want to dive into this wonderful instrument. Whatever the case, I am looking forward to hearing from you and discussing your next step! I try as much as possible to tailor the work with each individual student aiming at the goals set and the student's musical tastes. This becomes more the case the higher the student's level of experience. Nevertheless, beginners are also encouraged to suggest music for themselves to learn. The work on pieces is combined with other important activities designed to develop finger dexterity, hand coordination, rhythmic sense, music reading, playing by ear, etc. The Cortot, Hanon and scale exercises are some of my frequent choices for the technical work. For young beginners, I defend a no-book approach during the first 2 or 3 months, for three main reasons: it makes learning more fun, it unlocks our creative potential and it allows us to explore the instrument rather confidently and freely. Instead of learning how to read right from the start, students have the opportunity to play games, listen to music, sing, compose, and improvise over backing tracks, developing the core skills necessary for any musical activity later on. After this period, it is then time to introduce them to a method book. The one I recommend the most is Piano Safari. For teenage and adult beginners, the activities described above are selected and adjusted, and theory concepts may be introduced at an earlier stage. If desired, graded level series such as the RSL Classical or Contemporary Piano, among others, may be opted for. Please notice that my scheduling may not always be up to date on this website, so the best way to know my availability is sending me a message. Feel free to get in touch for any other questions as well! Looking forward to meeting you soon, Rodrigo

Maria
After 4-5 months of learning piano with Maria, I owe her big gratitude. I decided to learn piano as an adult and Maria helped me to overcome my insecurities in music and motivated me to keep trying and practicing. She truly cares about the whole learning experience and uses amazing methods to guide me not only in improving my playing skills, but also my musicality. The piano classes with Maria are always inspiring and challenging, but not overwhelming. In each class, she corrects the techniques and accommodates exercises for practice accordingly. I am really satisfied with her dedication and feedback. I cannot recommend Maria highly enough. In her teaching, she uses the right dose of professionalism, friendliness, patience, and understanding. Her enthusiasm for the music is so contagious. Her lovely and passionate nature and energetic vibes simply make the class an enjoyable learning experience. I cannot wait for the next piano class with Maria. :)

Giora
Fantastic teacher!! Giora is a professional musician and a fantastic teacher. He knows exactly what the student needs and his teaching methods are great. From the first assessment meeting he managed to spot the strengths and weaknesses, he listened well to what I want and what's my goal and devised a plan for me to reach it. He's not judgemental, provides timely feedback and compliments/appreciates the strengths and gives constructive/motivational feedback when needed. Moreover, he's very friendly, hospitable and also funny. For anyone who wants to learn piano, whether a beginner student or an advanced player, I highly recommend Giora.

Sanja
Sanja is fantastic! Her attitude towards how she teaches is refreshing as she let's her students, and actively encourages, making a song their own. I organised this for my fiancée as a surprise birthday present and she absolutely loved the experience! She is a very visual learner so the worksheets that Sanja had prepared were perfect, despite being aimed at kids, they worked wonders for her! I was allowed to sit close by too so I could enjoy the whole experience which was lovely. Thank you so much!! And we have already organised the next lesson.
